KS3 - Carousel

Our Key Stage 3 curriculum

Design & Technology at KS3 is predominantly focused on practical making tasks. (Design theory is split across projects, and becomes a greater focus during KS4).

The broad range of D&T material areas are covered across a carousel which rotates 4 times a year, including projects based on wood/metal, elecronics/plastics, structures/mechanisms, modelling/prototyping, and food technology.

Each of the topics introduce basic concepts during year 7, and progress onto more advanced techniques in year 8. These create the foundation for moving on to design based projects in KS4.
