It is important that all students are confident that they can make an effective, purposeful start to their A level courses in September. All departments have been asked to outline preparatory work that students should complete over the summer.
Full guidance and detail will be given during the induction sessions on Thursday 30 June.
SWBGS teach the Edexcel GCSE course and the Edexcel A Level builds on this, meaning a solid GCSE grounding is essential. You need to honestly RAG-rate the tables of Learning Outcomes on pages 10 to 40 of the Edexcel GCSE specification and use your GCSE notes, BBC Bitesize, Physics and Maths Tutor, Seneca, Cognito etc. to consolidate your weakest areas.
Please complete the workbook on key topics that will be built on in the first year of A level, work book can be assessed here. This workbook needs to be handed in during the first lesson in September as we will go through this work in the lesson.
Most pupils buy the hard copy textbooks but you can also get on-line access to the two course textbooks.
