Grade 5 Social Studies:

Building on the knowledge of North American geography and peoples, students learn about the history of the colonies, the Revolution, the development of the Constitution and the early Republic, the expansion of the United States, sectional conflicts over slavery that led to the Civil War, and the Civil Rights Movement of the 20^th century.
