PTF Board:
The board leadership communicates frequently with each other as well as the SHS administration to review and plan upcoming initiatives and events. We strive to have representation from all classes on the board and welcome all parents and caregivers to participate as a board member and in our meetings.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation:
We host at least two larger thank you events each year:
--Welcome back breakfast on at the beginning of the school year
--Appreciation luncheon in the spring
If you're interested in assisting with these two events, or have ideas for other appreciation programs, we'd love to hear it!
Student Support:
We provide at least two student success initiatives each year:
--Freshman planners to help our newest high school students start on track and stay on track throughout the school year
--Welcome treat (slushies, cookies, etc) during freshman orientationÂ
Additionally, we've supported student clubs and worked with student council and advisors to assist the classes with their individual fundraising.
Scholarships:
We give (2) $1,000 scholarships to rising seniors to support their future goals. We ask two of the PTF junior parents to read through the scholarship applications to determine the recipients.
Community Engagement:
Attend freshman orientation, curriculum night, and prospective student night to help spread awareness of the PTF mission. We've also reached out to the Recreation Department to participate in town events such as the indoor farmers market and the holiday parade/festival to help promote the PTF.
Fundraising:
We rely on support from our parents and caregivers, as well as the greater community, for donations to fund our initiatives. We plan a "dues drive" each fall, sell Big Blue attire, and have partnered with local restaurants to generate revenue. If you have a fundraising idea, or have a passion for soliciting for donations, we'd love to have your help and energy towards these efforts.
Big Blue Clothing Sales:
Good with retail management and marketing? Manage our online store! We work with local vendors to source branded attire to sell online as well as at community events. The link to our store: https://swampscott-ptf.square.site/ We welcome your thoughts on types of merchandise and ways to increase sales!
Social Media:
Manage our Facebook and Instagram pages! Share our initiatives, cross-promote the SHS main social page, collaborate with the student IGs.
We'd love for you to get involved! Email us at hsptf@swampscott.k12.ma.us for more information
