Business & Finance INNOVATION PATHWAY

Business & Finance Innovation Pathway students enroll in a series of industry-focused electives that prepare them for a wide variety of careers in the high-demand business and finance industry. The Innovation Pathways program has five (5) requirements that must be fulfilled before graduating.

All Innovation Pathway students must take and Pass

• Intro to Business - Grade 9 or 10

• Business & Finance Capstone - Grade 12

Students then choose a direction to focus their studies.  If students want to focus on Finance, they take the following sequence of courses:

• Accounting  I - Grade 10

• Personal Financial Literacy - Grade 11 (all SHS students must take)

• Money Management & Investing - Grade 11 or 12

If students want to focus on Marketing, they will take the following sequence of courses:

• Marketing I - Grade 9 or 10

• Marketing II - Grade 10 or 11

Then either:

• Entrepreneurship OR Hospitality & Tourism - Grade 11 or 12

Students who choose the Marketing focus will still be required to take Personal Financial Literacy to meet their graduation requirements in Grade 11 or 12.

Students must also complete two (2) college- level courses which can include AP classes at SHS or Dual Enrollment courses at NSCC
