This year is such an exciting year for math because we finally step out from the years of calculations you've been doing and apply what you know to new forms of math.
We look at all the different types of math and the ways you can look at and apply numbers. We will continue to strengthen your calculation skills but also learn about how to use those skills to analyze and apply numbers in a new context.
After school extra help days will usually be on Tuesdays and Thursdays or as needed. Please check the Assignments page for schedule changes and availability.

This is our main source for tracking work and has the most up-to-date grades. Digital copies, assignments (with due dates), and videos can be found here.
Parents, I recommend logging in through your child's account.
Access through Clever.com and it's main focus is to review math content.
This new online practice tool comes with an AI coach; this is a great way to watch review videos and ask questions when Mrs. Woz isn't around. All Edia Assignments can be found on our Google Classroom.

3 areas of grading:
50% Assessments: Tests, Quizzes, and Projects - Assessments are varied so students can show what they know in different ways. All individually graded assessments can be found in Google Classroom and Aspen. Corrections and retakes are on a case by case basis.
40% Daily Work: Daily classwork, binder checks, homework, class activities, exit tickets, and overall work production in and sometimes outside of class. All individually graded assignments can be found on Google Classroom.
10% Effort & Participation: End-of-Term score based on a self-assessment. Students will reflect on our class goals and grade themselves.

This includes, but is not limited to, project based learning strategies, UDL, self-guided activities with visuals and manipulatives, and our HMH Into Math Curriculum and Resources.
