The Sittingbourne School uses Google Classroom for independent learning. The information below will help and guide you to seeing your child's current class activity, upcoming work and missing work from Google Classroom.

Email summaries overview

As a guardian, you can receive email summaries showing your child's progress in Google Classroom, using the email address we have in our records. At each school roll over, or when your student is added to new classes, you will receive an invitation for email summaries.


Note: You can only receive summaries for independent learning if you have a personal Google account.

When your student is added to any new Google Classrooms, you as the guardian will be invited to this class as well. You will receive an email like this example. Now you can decide if you would like to receive weekly updates on the mentioned Google Classroom or ignore if you would not.

Upon clicking 'ACCEPT' you will see the following message. Once you see this message you will now receive weekly updates on your child's classroom activity.


You will have the option to 'SIGN IN' or 'CREATE NEW ACCOUNT', if you are not already signed into a personal Google account. Please see the section 'Changing the Frequency' for more information on these two options.

Changing the frequency 

If you would like to change the frequency with which you receive your child's Google Classroom Summaries then please follow the below instructions.

Once you have received this message you can, if you would like, change the frequency with which you receive the summaries.

Please select the option that applies to you.

'SIGN IN'


Please click 'SIGN IN' and sign in with your own personal Google account. You should then get this page.

Once signed in, you will be presented with this page where you can change from 'Weekly' to 'Daily'.

'CREATE NEW ACCOUNT'

If you do not have Google account then you will need to create one to change the frequency. First click 'CREATE NEW ACCOUNT' and follow the process to create your own personal Google account.

Once you have created an account, you can then sign in and this screen appears where you can change from 'Weekly' to 'Daily'.

Why have I not received an email invitation?

You will not get an email invitation if:

If you have not received the invitation, check your spam folder. Otherwise, please email the school office.
