EY Kartini Day and Earth Day
Written by Ms. Angel, Ms. Yuyun, and Ms. Rey
In celebration of Kartini Day and Earth Day, our Early Years students embraced the theme “Dari Hati untuk Kartini dan Bumi.” Through joyful and meaningful activities, the children were introduced to the spirit of R.A. Kartini—her courage, kindness, and determination to make a difference.
The celebration went beyond stories. Students explored Indonesian culture by performing traditional dances and learning regional songs, building both confidence and cultural appreciation.
At the same time, they showed love for the Earth through creative recycling projects. Using everyday materials, they transformed egg trays into congklak boards, crafted wayang from cardboard, and designed book covers from reused materials.
This celebration reminds us that even the youngest learners can honor heroes, care for the planet, and create with purpose—from the heart.
TODDLER - Literacy
Written by Ms. Jill
Our Toddler class had a wonderful time revising the letters y, v, w, and z. We began by listening to the story “Dear Zoo", where the children sat attentively, enjoyed the pictures, and connected the animals in the story to their learning. The children then explored a sensory activity by searching for hidden letters in a tub of lentils. They found the letters and sorted them into trays, supporting their letter recognition. To strengthen their fine motor skills, the children decorated cardboard letters by peeling and placing dot stickers. This activity helped develop finger strength and hand–eye coordination. They also explored painting in a creative way by using yarn to make marks on paper, moving their hands to create different patterns and textures. It has been a fun and meaningful week of learning, with the children building confidence in recognising letters while developing their fine motor skills through play!
NURSERY - Mathematics
Written by Ms. Ann
The Nursery students have been busy becoming little mathematicians through fun, hands-on experiences filled with play and discovery. By exploring numbers in meaningful ways, they are building a joyful connection with early numeracy.
Using blocks, balls, and everyday objects, the children practised counting and enjoyed cheerful rote counting together. Learning continued outdoors as they collected twigs and leaves to count, sort, and group, turning nature into their own maths playground.
Through games, they learnt one-to-one correspondence and explored "more", "less", and “a lot". Measurement was just as exciting as they compared tall, short, and long, especially when measuring their friends’ heights.
With every activity, our Nursery students are growing in confidence and curiosity. Learning numbers has never been this fun!
PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Understanding the World
Written by Ms. Joy
The Pre-K class has been having a wonderful time exploring the theme: 'solar system', focusing on the planets and the objects we see in the sky during the day and night through engaging discussions and hands-on exploration.
Our classroom has been filled with excitement during show-and-tell sessions, where children proudly talked about their favourite planets and what they know about space. Creativity has also been shining through in our art activities—students explored the phases of the moon, created their class suncatcher, and designed their clouds inspired by what they see in the sky.
As part of our learning, we also introduced the importance of caring for our Earth. The children used recyclable materials in their art works, helping them understand how small actions can make a big difference for our planet.
K1 - Indonesian Language
Written by Ms. Angel
The K1 class is exploring the Elements of the Earth through fun, hands-on activities. We started our topic on Air (udara) by introducing the word “tiup” through a pom-pom race game. As the pom-poms landed, students practised reading vocabulary beginning with the letter /t/. Our young learners also brought the concept of moving air (angin) to life as they made and tried their colourful paper hand fans.
The learning continued with the topic of Fire (api) and its uses. Their curiosity was sparked during a bonfire craft activity, where they learned that fire provides light and warmth. Children then played a hopscotch game, following a safe path to reinforce keeping a safe distance from fire.
Through these activities, students recognised how air and fire function in everyday life. Understanding their characteristics also helped them learn to use these elements wisely.

This term in K2 Swimming, our students continued building confidence in the water through fun and supportive activities. We focused on water familiarisation, helping the children feel comfortable moving, splashing, and exploring safely in the pool. As their confidence grew, we introduced basic kicking techniques and simple arm movements to begin developing early swimming strokes. The students practised moving through the water with support, learning how their bodies move and how to stay balanced. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and willingness to try each activity. Many students are becoming more confident and independent in the water. We are proud of their progress and excited to see them continue developing their skills.
GRADE 1 - PE

In Grade 1 PE, students explored different ways of throwing using a variety of equipment such as rockets, balls, and cones of different shapes. Each item gave the students a new challenge, helping them learn how to adjust their grip, aim, and strength. We focused on watching the target, using one hand to throw, and following through with the arm. The students showed great enthusiasm as they experimented with how each object moved through the air. It was wonderful to see them stay engaged, try different techniques, and celebrate their progress. We are proud of their effort and growing confidence as they continue developing their coordination and control
GRADE 2 - Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
Grade 2 Music students are currently practising enthusiastically for their upcoming year-end performance. As part of the showcase, they will be demonstrating their developing skills and confidence in playing the pianica. During music lessons and rehearsals, the students have been learning to play melodies accurately while improving their sense of rhythm, finger coordination, breathing control, and teamwork as an ensemble.
The children have been working diligently to master their assigned songs, paying close attention to proper technique, timing, posture, and musical expression. They are also learning the importance of listening carefully to one another and performing together harmoniously as a group. Through consistent practice, the students are building not only their musical abilities but also their confidence, concentration, and discipline.
The year-end performance will be a wonderful opportunity for the students to showcase their progress, creativity, and hard work throughout the school year. It will also be a meaningful experience for them to perform in front of parents, teachers, and classmates. We are very proud of their dedication, perseverance, and enthusiasm during rehearsals, and we look forward to seeing them perform with confidence, joy, and excitement on stage.

Our Young Orators Shine in English Class!
It has been a bustling and expressive month in our Grade 3 English Language classroom! Our students stepped into the spotlight to showcase their growing communication skills through a series of exciting oral language challenges.
The room was filled with giggles and dramatic flair as students recited from Shel Silverstein’s famous poem, "Sick". From exaggerated coughs to "terrible" faux fevers, they truly brought the character of Peggy Ann McKay to life. Following the poetry, our young authors practised the art of oral storytelling, captivating their peers with imaginative tales told entirely from memory.
To sharpen their technical skills, students also tackled an intense oral language test on irregular verbs, proving they know their "go, went, have gone" with impressive speed! Finally, we slowed things down to focus on listening comprehension, where students listened to a passage of fascinating facts about the history of the ice ages and answered questions about the passage. We are so proud of their hard work and growing confidence!

Grade 4 students had a fun and engaging time exploring sound through hands-on activities. They learned that sound is made by vibrations and can travel through materials like air, solids, and liquids.
To explore this further, students created their own DIY instruments and experimented with them. They tested how tightening or loosening a string changed the sound. They noticed that tighter strings made higher-pitched sounds, while looser strings produced lower ones. They also discovered that stronger vibrations made louder sounds.
Through this exciting investigation, students practised making predictions, observing, and sharing their ideas. It was a great way for them to understand how sound works in real life while enjoying the process of creating and experimenting.

From Sayu to Orangutan Stories
This year, Grade 5 students celebrated Kartini Day through a creative and meaningful activity. They performed the song Sayu with great confidence, showing expression and teamwork on stage.
The project did not stop at singing. After the performance, students were divided into groups and given different topics to explore. They researched and discussed ideas together, then prepared short presentations.
Each group shared their findings in front of the class. Some talked about habitats, others about food and conservation, making the session both informative and engaging.
This activity combined music, research, and collaboration. It was an enjoyable experience that also helped students build confidence, practise speaking skills, and develop greater awareness of the world around them.
