Nursery Indonesian Language
Written by Ms. Mila
In the bustling halls of our nursery class, amidst giggles and curiosity, a journey into the heart of Indonesian language and culture unfolds. This week, our tiny scholars embarked on a captivating exploration of the Earth’s elements: Fire, Wind, and Water.
With wide-eyed wonder, the children gathered around a flickering candle, their eager faces reflecting the dancing flames. "Api," whispered our teachers, as we introduced the concept of fire in the Indonesian language. Together, we learned to respect its power and appreciate its warmth, as the children timidly attempted to blow out the candle, giggling at their newfound skill.
Next, we delved into the realm of "Angin," the wind. Armed with tissues in hand, the children mimicked the gentle breeze, fluttering and swirling their makeshift sails. Laughter filled the room as they discovered the joy of movement and the invisible forces that shape our environment.
Finally, we immersed ourselves in the refreshing embrace of "Air," water. With bowls filled to the brim, the children gleefully splashed and played, their tiny hands exploring the cool sensation. "Air," they chimed in unison, their voices echoing with excitement as they soaked in the wonders of this essential element.
Through these playful encounters, our nursery children not only gained a deeper understanding of the Indonesian language but also forged a connection with the natural world around them. As they blew out candles, fluttered tissues, and splashed in water, they discovered the beauty and harmony of the earth's elements, igniting a lifelong love for learning and exploration.
PreK Literacy
Written by Ms. Joy and Ms. Jill
Promoting literacy among kids involves interactive activities like answering questions, show and tell, retelling stories, and sequencing through songs and pictures. These activities at the Pre-K level enhance reading comprehension and support oral and receptive communication skills, critical thinking, and creativity.
Answering questions helps children articulate their thoughts, building confidence in verbal expression. Show and tell sessions offer a platform for sharing, fostering self-esteem and presentation skills. Retelling stories strengthens memory and sequencing abilities while deepening comprehension. Additionally, gathering together for bonding and imagination-filled conversations adds meaning to the experience. By providing engaging experiences, teachers and parents empower children to become confident communicators, laying a strong foundation for their future success!

Numbers and Beyond for K1
It’s Term 3! and our learning adventure took flight,
Beyond numbers to 30, oh, what a delight!
Positional words, ordinals, the calendar and time,
Kindergarten stars, it's your time to shine!
To say beside, between, above, or below,
To your left, to your right, up up we go!
Behind, in front, next to you, there’s so much to see,
Locating objects, these dynamic kids learn with glee!
First, second, third in line,
Counting in order, and yes, we’re fine.
Fourth and fifth, end in th don't you see?
Ordinal numbers are easy peasy!
Learning the 12 months, one by one,
In the calendar, a full year is spun.
With my dear little friends, we learned the trick,
The leap year’s magic, in a span of a week!
Numbers on the clock, tick-tock, tick-tock
Big hand, little hand, now it’s 8 o’clock!
In class we learned plenty of things–
Including how precious time really is!
K2 Science
Written by Ms. Klara
In our kindergarten 2 class, the young minds have been on a fascinating journey into the topic of day and night. They've embraced the concept of the Earth's rotation, understanding that when the sun's light shines on our planet, it's daytime, and when it turns away, night descends. Engaging activities have brought this celestial dance to life.
As little astronomers, our K2 students are becoming adept at distinguishing between daytime scenes, where the sun bathes the world in warmth, and nighttime, when the moon and stars illuminate the sky. They're also charting the moon's various phases, from the full moon's brilliance to the delicate crescent in the night sky.
In our weather explorations, they are identifying different weather types associated with these periods. Whether basking in the sun's rays during the day or listening to raindrops pattering at night, our young meteorologists are connecting the dots between time and weather.

As the school year progressed, Grade 1 students acquired several skills enabling them to work on our assigned project, which was a small startup business.
First on the agenda? Mastering the fundamentals of mathematics. Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, these future entrepreneurs honed their skills in multiplication and division. With each calculation, they laid the groundwork for understanding how money is calculated and spent.
Grade 1 had lively brainstorming sessions, generating ideas on what would sell best, what was more practical to sell, and what the cost would be. Through presentations and discussions, they shared their vision and invited feedback from their peers and teachers.
But that's not all – these young innovators also became experts in data management. Armed with the ability to sort and gather data, they tackled market research. They analysed consumer preferences based on their selected items, uncovering the secrets to success in the business world.
As Entrepreneurship Day approached, Grade 1 wasn't just preparing for an event – they were laying the foundation for a lifetime of innovation and success.

Language learning requires support from the linguistic environment, and language also serves as a carrier of culture. Celebrating the Spring Festival, a joyous occasion, is the perfect opportunity for children to put their learning into practice. Understanding the twelve Chinese zodiac signs learned from textbooks can be deepened in real-life contexts. Moreover, they also learn how to interact with small animals, cultivate empathy towards them, and become caring individuals.

With the demands of academic life constantly increasing, implementing study techniques can optimise their cognitive processes, leading to improved retention and understanding of subject matter. Rather than passively absorbing information, students actively engage with the material, fostering deeper comprehension and long-term memory retention. Study techniques not only aid in memorization but also promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Techniques such as self-testing and elaborative interrogation encourage students to analyse information, draw connections, and apply concepts to real-world scenarios. Mastering effective study techniques can alleviate the stress and anxiety often associated with academics. By employing strategies like mindfulness meditation or organising study environments conducive to learning, students create a supportive and stress-free atmosphere for studying. This semester, fifth graders focused on identifying and implementing study techniques to help them prepare for the upcoming checkpoint exams. The students created visual information regarding study techniques.
