FANTAZIA Choir Charity Concert @ FLAME 2026
Written by Mr. Freddy
On Saturday, 7 March 2026, the SWA community enjoyed a meaningful musical evening at the FANTAZIA Choir Charity Concert, held at the Trini Dewi Theatre. This special concert featured a collaboration between the SWA Choir and the internationally acclaimed Archipelago Singers, conducted by Ega O. Azarya. Our SWA Choir, consisting of Elementary and MSHS students under the guidance of Mr. Freddy and Ms. Melissa, also had the opportunity to receive a choir clinic directly from Mr. Ega. The ES Choir performed Little Star and Nightingale, the MYP Choir sang Remember Me, and both choirs joined the Archipelago Singers to present Why We Sing, Heal the World, Earth Song, and Laskar Pelangi. The concert also carried a meaningful purpose as a charity initiative, raising more than 60 million rupiah to support the development of an orphanage by Yayasan Sosial Tangan Kasih. All participants will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the school and the Archipelago Singers, which will be a valuable addition to the student portfolios.
Joining choir provides tremendous benefits for children and teenagers. Singing develops breathing technique and vocal production while strengthening the body’s natural instrument—the voice. At the same time, choral singing nurtures discipline, confidence, empathy, and collaboration while supporting brain development and emotional well-being. Through this charity concert, students also learn the importance of kindness and generosity, using their musical talents to make a positive impact on others. We sincerely thank all participating students and parents for their continuous support in nurturing both the musical growth and compassionate spirit of our young singers.
IFTAR CELEBRATION 2026
SWA warmly hosted a meaningful Iftar Celebration together with guests from Al-Amien Orphanage on Friday, 6 March 2026. The gathering was a heartfelt moment for our community to come together during the holy month of Ramadan while sharing kindness with others.
Through the initiative led by the SWA Parents Association, donations were collected from the parent community and presented to our guests from Al-Amien. This meaningful contribution reflects the spirit of compassion, generosity, and togetherness that defines the SWA community.
Beyond the event at school, the Parents Association also personally visited and delivered donations to Griya Yatim Dhuafa, Yayasan Daarul Musriah, and Al-Amien further extending our community's reach and impact. The evening was filled with warmth as parents, students, and our guests shared the joy of breaking fast together—reminding us that Ramadan is not only about reflection, but also about extending blessings to those around us. ✨
World Book Day 2026 has successfully concluded, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the entire community for making it so meaningful.
A special thank you goes to our parent storytellers for creating an inspiring reading environment across EY and ES. The celebration was further energised by a lively bazaar, food trucks, book-themed costumes, and guest speakers: Mr. Ernest Junius Wiyanto, who led an ES workshop, and Dr. Aminudin TH Siregar, who delivered an inspiring MSHS assembly.
Literacy and creativity were also at the forefront, with the MSHS English Team publishing a collection of student articles. Furthermore, our MSHS students extended this passion beyond SWA by organising a book donation for Taman Baca Jawara Margajaya.
These activities perfectly reflected our community's commitment to reading and writing. Please enjoy these highlights from the event!
