This multi-sensory approach helped solidify their understanding of the letter F, making learning both fun and memorable.
NURSERY - Indonesian Language
Written by Ms. Sherly
In Indonesian Language class, the Nursery children have been learning about land animals commonly found in the zoo, as well as flying animals. They explored the names of various creatures, including jerapah (giraffe), gajah (elephant), harimau (tiger), burung (bird), lebah (bee), and kupu-kupu (butterfly). To conclude their lessons, they expressed their creativity through art by creating jerapah artworks by tracing their hands and making kupu-kupu artworks using paper plates. We are incredibly proud of all the Nursery children have achieved so far. Well done, Nursery!
PRE-KINDERGARTEN - Literacy
Written by Ms. Joy
Learning letter sounds is a playful and sensory adventure in our Pre-K class! When we explored the letter sound /u/, we practised the Jolly Phonics song and brought our bright umbrellas, giggling as we strolled around the school garden. To learn the letter sound /l/, we playfully pretended to lick lollipops, turning the lesson into a fun and interactive experience. As we discussed the letter sound /f/, the children happily shared stories about their friends, reinforcing the importance of social skills.
Hands-on activities like cutting, drawing, tracing letters help strengthen their fine motor skills, and also allow each child to express themselves creatively. Through these experiential and playful activities, our Pre-K learners develop strong phonetic and literacy skills while having a wonderful time with each other.
K1 - Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
In K1, students develop a foundational understanding of beat and rhythm through engaging music and movement activities. These activities include clapping games, marching, and swaying to the music, helping children internalize rhythmic patterns while enhancing their coordination. By following simple beats and rhythmic sequences, they begin to grasp the concept of musical timing and develop listening skills.
Through repeated practice, students also start recognizing basic musical forms, such as verses and choruses, by participating in structured movement and clapping patterns. These experiences foster a deeper appreciation for music while making learning interactive and enjoyable. By incorporating both movement and rhythmic exercises, K1 students build essential musical skills in a playful and supportive environment.
K2 - Science
Written by Ms. Klara
Our K2 students became little botanists, exploring the wonders of plants through hands-on investigations and exciting discoveries! They learned about the different parts of a plant, identified various kinds of plants, and observed leaves with smooth and toothed edges. They also discovered a variety of beautiful flowers, each unique in shape, size, and colour.
One of the highlights of our learning was conducting a science experiment to understand what plants need to grow. The students carefully observed three plants under different conditions:
🌞💧🌬 Plant A had light, water, and air.
🌞🌬 Plant B had light and air but no water.
💧 Plant C had water but no air and light.
Throughout the experiment, the children made predictions, recorded their observations, and eagerly discussed the changes they saw in each plant. This hands-on approach helped them understand the importance of sunlight, water, and air in plant growth.
To conclude our plant unit, each student had the opportunity to plant their own seeds. They will continue to observe and record their plant's growth weekly, fostering curiosity and responsibility as they care for their little green friends.
Our young scientists had a fantastic time discovering the wonders of nature, and we look forward to seeing their plants thrive!

Grade 1 students learn more Chinese characters by recognising radicals, which helps them establish connections and improve memory retention. To make learning more engaging, they also use character cards in games to reinforce their knowledge in a fun and interactive way. Additionally, based on the lesson content, the classroom incorporates various language application games, such as role-playing and finding words, to help students practice using characters and words in context. This teaching approach not only enhances their literacy skills but also develops their language expression and thinking abilities, allowing them to enjoy learning and develop a love for Chinese characters through play.
GRADE 2 - ICT

Grade 2 students about the X and Y axis in Scratch MIT helps them understand basic programming concepts while making their games interactive. The X-axis controls left and right movement, while the Y-axis manages up and down motion. By exploring the Scratch stage, positioning sprites, and using arrow keys to move them, students develop spatial awareness and logical thinking. Simple commands like “go to x:__ y:__” and “change x/y by” allow young learners to control movement, while adding conditions like “if touching” enhances interactivity in their games.
To reinforce learning, students engage in fun projects such as maze challenges, racing games, and catch-the-object activities, applying X and Y coordinate principles in creative ways. These activities improve their problem-solving skills while keeping them engaged. By mastering these fundamentals, students build a strong foundation in computational thinking, preparing them for more advanced game development and coding in the future.

Our Grade 3 students recently embarked on a colorful adventure, exploring the art of tie-dye using food coloring! Through this hands-on activity, they experimented with different folding techniques and discovered unique patterns as they dyed their fabrics. Using eco-friendly materials, the students learned how colors blend and interact, creating beautiful swirls, stripes, and bursts of vibrant hues. This project not only enhanced their creativity but also introduced them to the science behind absorption and color diffusion.
Through this activity, students developed a deeper understanding of how different folding techniques result in unique tie-dye patterns. They explored the concept of color mixing and absorption while experimenting with various dyeing methods. Additionally, this hands-on experience encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and patience as they waited to unfold and reveal their designs. Most importantly, the process fostered curiosity and a sense of excitement, allowing them to learn through discovery and self-expression.
The joy and amazement on their faces as they unveiled their dyed fabrics were truly priceless! Stay tuned for more artistic explorations from our young creatives.

“Term 3 Bulletin Board”
Written by Ms. Lecya
As a caring community, we encourage our Grade 4 students to take an active role in educating each other about this month’s school theme “Confidence” by designing and setting up the Elementary School bulletin board in the Koi Building.
The students were divided into four groups, each with a specific responsibility. Two groups focused on researching what confidence is and how to boost it, one group worked on creating an interactive section for the bulletin board, and another took charge of decorating the board. The students were excited about the project, knowing that their work would not only be seen by fellow elementary students but also by parents and potential new students. This initiative empowered them to share their learning meaningfully and creatively!
GRADE 5 - Math

How Does Math Help Artists Create Perfect Colours?
Have you ever wondered how artists mix colours to create the perfect shade? This week, our Grade 5 students discovered the magic of ratios in an exciting, hands-on math lesson!
Aligned with our learning objectives, the lesson focused on understanding the relationship between two quantities in direct proportion. And what better way to explore this concept than through art?
Students became painters for the day, carefully mixing different amounts of paint using ratios to create new colours. They quickly realised that doubling the amounts maintained the same shade, while adjusting the ratio completely transformed it! To put their newfound knowledge to the test, they participated in a straw painting activity, using their self-mixed colours to craft unique, vibrant artwork.
The classroom buzzed with excitement as students made real-world connections. One student exclaimed, “Now I see the math in art!”, while another proudly showed off their perfectly blended hues.
Through this creative and immersive approach, students didn’t just learn about ratios—they experienced them in action! Who knew math could be so colourful, artistic, and fun?
