CONGRATULATIONS
NATIONAL YOUTH ORCHESTRA & ALLEGRO MUSIC CONCERT 2024
We are thrilled to congratulate our talented music students who took on new challenges and performed in public concerts during the holiday season of December 2024. Their dedication and hard work truly paid off!
Richard from Grade 9 delivered a stunning solo piano performance of Golden Hour at the Allegro Grand Music Concert 2024, held at the XXI Theatre Ballroom, Mall Alam Sutera. Among over 40 young musicians from different schools, Richard’s heartfelt performance earned him second place in the audience vote, a remarkable achievement and a testament to his courage and dedication.
We also celebrate Darrel (Grade 7), Alana (Grade 9), and Adhisya (Grade 11) for their inspiring participation in the Winter Gala Concert 2024 at the UBM Grand Auditorium, Jakarta. Performing as part of the National Youth Honor Orchestra, they collaborated with young musicians from various schools to present a beautiful repertoire of Christmas-themed songs. Stepping into a larger and new setting, they demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and adaptability, performing gracefully and confidently with people they never met before in front of a public audience.
These experiences reflect the essence of being risk-takers, bravely stepping out of their comfort zones to perform in new environments with a wider community. By taking on these challenges, they developed valuable skills that align with the IB learner profiles. Their achievements remind us of the growth that comes from trying new things and embracing opportunities in positive ways. Congratulations to Richard, Darrel, Alana, and Adhisya for your inspiring accomplishments. May your courage and dedication motivate others in our community to reach for their own extraordinary musical journey.
Sinarmas World Academy CSR: Dedication to the Health of the Parung Panjang Community
Written by Ms. Evi
Sinarmas World Academy (SWA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community through a free medical programme held at Vihara Windu Paramitha, Parung Panjang, Kabupaten Bogor. This programme aims to improve access to healthcare services for local communities in need. As part of the initiative, SWA deployed 15 doctors, 2 nurses who diligently provided healthcare services to 300 residents living near the Vihara. Additionally, SWA provided free medicines and vitamins to help improve the health of the local community.
In addition to skilled medical personnel, the initiative also engaged several volunteers from Sinarmas World Academy's business staff. These volunteers assisted with patient coordination, logistical management, and ensuring the smooth execution of the programme. This activity not only served as an opportunity to provide healthcare services but also fostered harmonious relationships between the school and the local community. The assistance included medical check-ups, treatments, and education on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
This free medical programme reflects the values of solidarity and care deeply upheld by Sinarmas World Academy. The support provided not only delivers tangible benefits to the community but also inspires collaboration between the education sector and local communities. SWA hopes that such programmes can continue in the future to extend help to even more communities in need.
CARE CORNER
Balancing Academics and Extracurriculars in High School
Written by Ms. Lindi
A balanced life in education is essential for teens’ well-being and development especially that they are practising to live an adulthood life which will be coming soon. While academics build foundations for essential knowledge that will benefit the future, extracurriculars help children practise skills, explore interests and deepen their understanding. Joining routine sports practices and exploring new recipes in cooking classes could be tempting as those are stress-relieving activities, however, it could create distress if there is no control in doing it and the academic performance fails to be maintained.
To support our teen students in building their balanced lives, here are 3 important steps:
1. Set realistic goals
Help them to set achievable goals in academics and choose the activities that align with their interests and goals. Encourage them to focus on quality over quantity.
2. Emphasise time management
Plan all the activities with a planner or calendar. Guide them to consider the good or bad impact before they make decisions on joining activities or competitions.
3. Recognise the signs of stress and burnout
Give them guidance on how to be aware of irritability, fatigue or declining performance. Being balanced does not mean to do all things, but to choose and prioritise things that are meaningful.

HEALTH AND SAFETY UPDATE
It is a standard procedure at SWA to conduct whole-school general cleaning every weekend. However, we would like to update you on the additional measures implemented, particularly during sensitive periods such as flu season. Deep cleaning operations are currently a top priority, and we extend our gratitude to our cleaning services team and SWA staff for their dedicated efforts and vigilant monitoring of all buildings, ensuring our school remains a safe and hygienic environment.
Cleanliness is more than just the absence of dirt; it reflects the habits of those who use the space. Let us each do our part by respecting our surroundings and practising personal hygiene wherever we are. Wearing masks is encouraged to protect both yourself and others, and it is essential to prioritise proper handwashing at all times for everyone’s safety.
