EY Sports Day
Written by Mr. Victor
On EY Sports Day, the teachers prepared five exciting events: sprints, ball kicking, shooting, targeting, and batting. The students experienced all the stations with the guidance of the EY teachers. It was wonderful to see everyone putting in their best effort to accomplish the goal at each station.
After the morning break, Nursery and Pre-K created cool sports-inspired artworks, while K1 and K2 enjoyed a fun round of tug-of-war with their classmates and teachers. At the end of the day, we applauded everyone's effort and participation in the EY Piazza before heading home with our medals!
EY Celebration of Learning
Written by Ms. Lorely
EY took us on a trip through time,
With music, dance, and art sublime.
From disco lights to denim flair,
Moments swirled with memories to share.
In the 70s, K2’s groovy style,
K1’s neon hues with crimped-up hair awhile.
Pre-K embraced the 90s with flannels worn,
Nurseries’ beats kept spirits warm.
But it wasn’t just music, sound, or play,
Creativity told the tale in its own way.
Tie-dye s w i r l s and bold designs,
Nature’s c o l l a g e, and graffiti lines.
Through every stroke, each crafted part,
Young hands brought history alive in art.
The colors blended, the eras spoke,
A creative adventure, unique and woke.
And stories rose in joyful displays,
With attire bright, and talent in full blaze.
Tiny dancers took the floor,
Acting out each vibrant era’s lore.
It wasn’t just about the costumes worn,
Or the dances that were proudly born.
It was the journey they had made to stand,
Confident, inspired, with d r e a m s in hand.
From toddlers’ futuristic dreams,
To retro vibes in sparkling beams.
The theatre became a time machine,
Where every act felt pure and keen.
The lessons learned, the s k i l l s they gained,
Each step, each word, in progress framed.
Every performance, their GROWTH revealed,
Their voices strong, their hearts unsealed.
There was one more gift we liked to share,
A message of kindness, love, and care.
Boxes filled with thoughtful giving,
Showed the joy in selfless living.
Hearts united in that special place,
With loving hands and a warm embrace.
Families cheered and futures gleamed,
A celebration of the EY team!

Elementary School Holiday Concert 2024: A Season of Giving
Written by Ms. Melissa and Mr. Freddy
On Thursday, 12 December 2024, the Elementary School celebrated the festive season with its enchanting holiday concert, “A Season of Giving”. The performance united all students from Grades 1 to 5 in a joyful showcase of music, theater, and holiday spirit. Set against the backdrop of a dormitory school during the holiday season, the story follows Ethan, a boy who couldn’t go home for Christmas. Played wonderfully by Konrad, Ethan worked hard to buy himself a pair of basketball shoes. However, after a tragic car accident, his friends—played by Yean, Han Kyung, Dipto, Abigail, Hilo, and Kai—surprised him by bringing the very gift he had been saving for, delivering a powerful message of giving, caring, and togetherness.
The concert was a spectacular blend of artistic elements, involving singing, dancing, and acting. Every elementary student contributed, showcasing the collaborative spirit that brought the performance to life. Preparing for such a large-scale event required students to develop focus, concentration, and teamwork across grade levels. This cross-grade collaboration nurtured a sense of community, while also sharpening their attentiveness and cooperative skills.
Musically, the concert featured a captivating mix of genres, including pop, jazz, pop-rock, and folk songs. These styles introduced students to the richness of modern music and enhanced their musical abilities. The performances combined singing, dancing, and playing instruments, providing students with a holistic experience fostering creativity, motor coordination, discipline, and perseverance.
Beyond technical skills, the concert emphasised valuable life lessons. Through their collaborative efforts, students learned to appreciate not only music and art but also teamwork, respect, empathy, and generosity. The story of “A Season of Giving” resonated deeply, highlighting the true spirit of the holidays and leaving the audience with a sense of warmth and inspiration.
The concert's diverse formats, from singing in harmony with soprano and alto parts to playing in ensembles and bands, offered students a rich learning opportunity. They demonstrated their ability to maintain tempo, create harmony, and present polished performances. The dedication, teamwork, and holiday cheer displayed by the students made “A Season of Giving” a memorable celebration of compassion, joy, and the transformative power of the arts.
Junior Stuco Donation Drive
Written by Jr. Stuco
The Junior Stuco had another successful charity drive with the annual "Give a gift, Get a gift" event. The students who wished to join the exchange gift were required to donate a Christmas shoebox to charity.
We are grateful to have received numerous shoeboxes filled with various items that would make any child's Christmas extra special. These included stationeries, toys, hygiene kits, clothing, and vitamins. All donations were generously shared with two orphanages in Tangerang: Suaka Kasih Bunda and Mekar Lestari.
A huge thank you to the ES community for coming together once again and showing what it truly means to celebrate this season of giving.

Grade 2: An Integrated Project on Friction and Design
Our G2 students recently completed an exciting project on ramps, exploring how friction affects the distance travelled by cars on different surfaces. They began by investigating the role of friction in motion, and then applied their findings to design and build models of ramps with various uses.
Group 1 Ramp for wheelchairs, making it easier for people with mobility challenges to move around
Group 2 Ramp model for airports, helping to carry and transfer heavy luggage efficiently
Group 3 Playgrounds and ramps that allow children using wheelchairs or walkers to access play structures
Group 4 Ramp for shoppers to load heavy goods into their cars easily.
Group 5 Ramps for skateparks, where skateboarders and cyclists can perform stunts.
Group 6 Ramps found on sidewalks, crosswalks, and subway stations to aid pedestrian movement.
Each group showcased their creativity and engineering skills, demonstrating the practical applications of ramps in everyday life. This project highlighted the importance of understanding friction and encouraged innovative thinking to solve real-world problems.
Building a Periscope: A Creative Journey with Submarine Designs
Our Grade 3 students embarked on an exciting project to explore the principles of reflection by constructing their periscopes. This hands-on activity not only deepened their understanding of how light travels but also encouraged their creativity through the design of unique submarine models. The project was enriched by the help and active participation of parents, who collaborated with the students in designing and building their submarine models, making it a truly engaging and collaborative learning experience.
Grade 4 Students Build DIY Mini Drones
Our Grade 4 students took on an exciting challenge to build mini drones using popsicle sticks. This hands-on project provided a fun and engaging way to learn about circuits, wiring, and the basics of aerodynamics. It also fostered creativity and teamwork as students worked together to design and construct their drones.
Building the mini drones was not without its difficulties. The students faced several challenges, including wiring the circuits correctly and assembling the parts to make the drones functional. Some groups struggled with getting their drones to fly as expected, but they didn’t give up.
By the end, each group built their drone model. While not all flew, the students gained valuable experience in teamwork and practical skills. This project highlighted their resilience and collaborative spirit.
Toys from Trash with Electric Circuits
Grade 5 students created toys using recycled materials and electric circuits, making them move, light up, or make sounds. They applied their knowledge of circuits to design and troubleshoot their creations.
The project also integrated ICT, with students using digital tools to plan and document their work. They used English to write reports explaining their designs and Math to calculate measurements and balance components.
By the end, students built unique toys, combining creativity, technical skills, and sustainability in a fun and meaningful way.
