Exploring Colours: Yellow and Blue in Toddler Class
Our Toddler class had an exciting and engaging exploration of the colours yellow and blue. The children listened to the story Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh, enjoying an interactive experience as they mixed paint along as the teacher read the story. They watched how colours could change and blend, helping them deepen their understanding of early colour concepts.
To explore yellow, the toddlers participated in a variety of sensory activities. They enjoyed playing with soft yellow noodles, using tools such as tongs, forks, and plates to scoop, sort, and explore. At the light table, the children used pipettes to transfer yellow water onto trays of ice, strengthening their fine motor skills while observing the colour glow through the light.
Our blue activities were just as exciting. The toddlers experimented with freehand painting using blue paint, trying different tools to make marks, strokes, and patterns on paper. To extend their sensory learning, they also explored blue jelly—squishing, scooping, and feeling its cool, wobbly texture.
Through these multi-sensory experiences, the children not only learnt to recognise the colours yellow and blue but also developed creativity, curiosity, and important fine motor skills. What a colourful and joyful learning journey!
NURSERY - Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
In Music Nursery, our young learners are beginning their wonderful journey into the world of music! At this early stage, we focus on exploring music and movement, which are the most essential foundations for future musical development. Through fun and interactive activities, students learn to listen carefully, respond to sounds, and express themselves creatively.
We sing simple songs, move our bodies to the beat, and experiment with different kinds of rhythm using age-appropriate instruments. These experiences help the children develop important skills such as coordination, language development, listening awareness, and social interaction. They also begin to recognise patterns in music, explore high and low sounds, fast and slow tempos, and gain confidence in performing with their friends.
Our goal is to nurture their natural curiosity and love for music while building a strong base that will support them as they grow into more advanced musical skills in later grades. We are so proud of their enthusiasm and joy every time they step into our music room!
Together, we are planting the seeds of musical creativity — and we can’t wait to watch them bloom.

This term, our PreK theme “Who Helps Me?” is in full swing! Through a series of fun and imaginative activities, children explore different roles, discover the world around them, and learn Chinese naturally in a joyful environment.
In class, children begin their language journey with lively movement activities that spark their interest in Chinese. Through immersive role-play, they step into real-life scenarios: becoming little doctors who “treat” their friends with toy medical tools and listening to each other’s heartbeats with real stethoscopes—experiencing both the warmth of helping others and being helped. During the “shopping” game, they learn through play as they practise everyday sentence patterns like “Nǐ yào chī shénme?” (What do you want to eat?) and “Wǒ yào chī …” (I want to eat …), building confidence in expressing their needs. In the craft activity, children create their own adorable little doctor’s bag, reinforcing what they’ve learnt through hands-on exploration.
At the end of the unit, children demonstrate their understanding in a playful assessment by listening to Chinese words and clipping clothespins onto the matching pictures. Throughout the entire learning journey, they learn through play and learn by doing—joyfully discovering the beauty of helping others and expressing themselves.
K1 - Understanding the World
Written by Ms. Keraleen
Our K1 students had a wonderful and meaningful week as they continued learning about Festivals and Celebrations Around the World, with a special focus on Christmas. The children explored how people celebrate this festival through joyful traditions and creative crafts.
They began by making candy canes using red, white, and blue finger-painted dots. As they worked, the children learnt that candy canes remind people of sweetness, joy, and giving—values often shared during Christmas time. They then created Christmas trees using their handprints and decorated them by stamping different shapes, each child choosing their favourite shapes to make their tree unique.
Another highlight of the week was the making of our class Christmas wreath, where all the children’s handprints were arranged in a circle. This activity helped them understand how celebrations bring people together, just as their handprints formed one beautiful wreath.
Through these creative experiences, the children developed fine motor skills, explored symbols of celebration, and enjoyed discovering how people around the world express joy and kindness during special festivals.
K2 - Arts
Written by Ms. Nora
Our K2 students have been learning about lines as part of the Elements of Art. In this project, they explored different types of lines and used them creatively to make their own crayon line artwork.
Students first painted a background using a variety of lines. They also learnt about colours, as the whole class created crayons in different colours. After that, they coloured their large crayon drawing with oil pastel, cut it out, and added details such as eyes, hands, and legs. Once all the parts were ready, they pasted their crayon characters onto the background.
Each child designed their own unique expression, allowing their crayon artwork to show personality and creativity. Through this activity, students practised line drawing, colour exploration, colouring, cutting skills, and creative thinking.
It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and imagination shine through. The final artworks look cheerful, colourful, and full of character, a great reflection of their growing confidence in art.

ES Holiday Concert 2025: The Magic of Hope
Written by Ms. Melissa & Mr. Freddy
This year’s ES Holiday Concert, The Magic of Hope, brought sparkle and warmth to our school community as all Elementary students—from Grade 1 to Grade 5—came together in a heartwarming musical production. With Grade 4 students taking the lead as the main cast, the performance showcased a beautiful collaboration of choir singing, instrumental music, dance, and drama.
The story followed Grinchy, a young girl living with her aunt and cousin after losing her parents. Feeling lonely and misunderstood, she grew to dislike the Christmas season, believing she had no one to celebrate with. Discovering a magical power inherited from her parents, Grinchy attempted to ruin the school’s Christmas preparations. However, when she witnessed the harm caused by her actions, she felt deep regret. Guided by newfound courage and positive hope, she tried to restore the joy she had taken away.
Did Grinchy manage to save Christmas? Watch the heart-touching performance in the video below.

GRADE 1 - Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
In Grade 1 Music, students are building on the foundations learnt in earlier years while taking exciting steps toward becoming more confident young musicians. Along with learning theoretical concepts such as steady beat, rhythm patterns, and musical symbols, our Grade 1 learners are developing their musicality through active performance and creative expression.
This year, students have been strengthening their singing voices by practising proper breathing, pitch matching, and singing as a group in a choir setting. They proudly showcased these growing skills on stage in our holiday concert musical production. With lots of personality and energy, they performed the humorous and playful song “I Hate Christmas”, bringing joy and laughter to the audience.
Additionally, they sang “When We Are Together” using a warm and blended choir voice, demonstrating teamwork and harmony through music. To celebrate the finale of the concert, Grade 1 joined in singing the upbeat and festive “Holiday”, ending the performance with excitement and smiles.
We are delighted by their progress and enthusiasm as they continue to explore music with curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Grade 1 are well on their way to becoming expressive and joyful performers!

G2 students recently got involved with a special poem called "Nature Magic". While they didn't write the poem themselves, this activity was a super-fun extension of their ongoing plant-growing project!
The poem let the students celebrate the beauty and wonder of their little green pals—all the seeds and sprouts—as they grew bigger and stronger. To make the performance extra special, the G2 class poured their creative energy into making their very own decorations!
But the fun didn't stop there! The students also transformed into brilliant performers, practising their poetry performance skills! They learnt how to use their voices, gestures, and expressions to make the magic of nature leap right off the page, all enhanced by their handmade decorations. It was a delightful way to integrate science and art, turning their hands-on gardening experience into a truly memorable, rhythmic, and expressive show! Bravo, G2!

Our G3 students recently dived into the world of physical and chemical changes through fun, hands-on experiments in the science lab. They watched with excitement as mixtures like vinegar and baking soda bubbled, fizzed, and even changed temperature, which clearly showed that a new substance was created. These engaging reactions helped them better understand what really happens during a chemical change.
Students also investigated physical changes by melting ice, dissolving sugar, and tearing paper. Through these simple activities, they saw that physical changes do not create new materials and can often be reversed. Comparing the two types of changes helped them develop stronger observation skills and scientific reasoning.
To reinforce their learning, students completed a short practical test where they identified whether each activity showed a physical or chemical change. Many showed great confidence in explaining their answers using scientific vocabulary. Overall, the activity was a fun and meaningful way to connect science concepts with real-world experiences.

🌱 Growing Responsibility: Grade 4 Learns About Rights and Duties
Grade 4 students have been exploring the Civics topic of hak dan kewajiban in an exciting and creative way. To help them understand the balance between rights and responsibilities, students worked on a special “plant vase project”.
Each student decorated a small vase to represent growth. Inside it, they placed paper leaves containing statements from their daily lives. Their challenge was to decide which statements showed hak (rights), such as having a safe place to learn, and which ones showed kewajiban (responsibilities), like keeping the classroom clean or respecting teachers.
This hands-on activity helped students realise that rights and responsibilities must go hand in hand, just like plants that need care to grow. The vases became meaningful reminders that being part of a community means enjoying rights while also doing our duties.
By the end of the lesson, students proudly shared their vases and explained their choices, showing a clearer understanding of what it means to be responsible young citizens.
ILA - Kata Kerja, Kata Benda, Kata Sifat in Action!
In Indonesian Language Acquisition, Grade 4 students have been learning about kata kerja (verbs), kata benda (nouns), and kata sifat (adjectives) through a hands-on and creative poster-making project. Instead of only writing vocabulary in their notebooks, students designed colourful and illustrative posters that helped them identify and use the three types of words in clear and meaningful sentences. This visual approach made the learning more engaging and easier to understand.
Throughout the activity, students worked in small groups. They discussed ideas, chose appropriate words, created example sentences, and added drawings to support their meanings. The classroom atmosphere was filled with excitement as students checked their spelling, shared coloured pencils, and compared their ideas with classmates.
The final results were wonderful to see: posters full of pictures, creativity, and confident sentence examples. Students proudly presented their work to the class and explained the kata kerja, kata benda, and kata sifat they used. This activity not only strengthened their vocabulary and grammar knowledge but also encouraged collaboration and communication in Indonesian. It was a meaningful learning experience and a very enjoyable lesson for everyone!
