Early Years
Toddler Literacy
Written by Ms. Mary Ann
The Toddler class had a delightful time engaging in activities designed to support their language learning journey. As we continued introducing and exploring letters, the children made remarkable progress in building a strong foundation in phonics and language acquisition.
This term, we focused on encouraging the children to use their pointer fingers to trace and follow the shapes of letters. To reinforce the vocabulary introduced for the letter C, the children took part in an enjoyable cookie-baking activity, practising essential skills such as mixing, scooping, flattening, and rolling.
The excitement carried on outdoors as the children enjoyed flying kites to celebrate the letter K. For the letter E, we incorporated an egg-peeling activity and eggplant painting, which helped develop their hand-eye coordination skills. To celebrate the letter H, the children embraced their creativity by taking part in a "Crazy Hair Day," coming to class with uniquely styled hair and decorative ornaments.
To further enhance their fine motor skills, the children experimented with using spray bottles to spray coloured water onto letters, making learning both interactive and enjoyable. Storytime was also a cherished part of the week, as engaging tales supported the children’s vocabulary development and language acquisition.
Nursery PE

Our Nursery students have been hard at work practising their object manipulation skills in preparation for Early Years Sports Day! We have focused on fun, hands-on activities such as throwing beanbags, kicking balls, and shooting into targets. These exercises are helping the children develop coordination, timing, and control, while also building their confidence in a playful environment.
PreK Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
In Pre-K music class, students are exploring the basics of beat and rhythm through engaging activities with percussion instruments. They are learning to play simple ostinato patterns, which help them maintain a steady beat and recognise repeating sequences. The class also incorporates music and movement activities to enhance their coordination and musical understanding. One activity, matching symbols with specific movements, allows the children to connect visual cues with physical actions, promoting coordination and helping them synchronise their movements with the music. These activities lay a strong foundation in rhythm and timing, supporting their overall musical development.

K1’s Adventure Story with the Shape Squad
Our young explorers are on a quest to discover shapes and measurements in the world around them!
We kicked off Term 2 by meeting the Shape Squad: CeliCIRC⚫, eThanTRI▲, ReaganRECT▮, and StacieSQUA⬛. Each shape has its own personality: Circle rolls, Triangle points, Rectangle stretches, and Square stays steady. The children soon spotted these shapes in everyday objects like clocks, books, windows, and boxes learning how shapes form the building blocks of our world.
Next, the kids ventured into the magical world of 3-Dimensions, meeting SheenaSPHERE🎾, the round and bouncy ball who loves to roll and tumble; ChloeCUBE🧊, the sturdy cube who fits perfectly in any space and loves to stack high and ClaudiaCONE🍦, the pointy cone who always keeps an eye on things from above. With their new friends, they built 3D masterpieces using wooden blocks, magnetic cubes, and empty cartons. This hands-on play introduced them to height, depth, and space, helping them see how 3D shapes add a whole new dimension to their world.
Finally, MillieMEASURE arrived! LENGTHYLuiza brought her ruler📏 to measure toys, while BIGBen and TINYTriz helped the kids sort by length and size. Through measuring and comparing, the children learned how length and size bring order to the world around them. With every discovery, the K1 young adventurers grew in confidence and curiosity, realising that shapes and measurements aren’t just maths—they’re the foundation of how we see and understand the world. So next time you see young learners stacking blocks, measuring shoes, or marvelling at a round ball, remember—they’re not just playing; they’re building the foundation for a lifetime of discovery and learning!☺

In class, they learned about different animals’ habitats, physical features, and roles within the ecosystem.Additionally, the students created their own books based on the animals they studied, which helped to deepen their understanding of the theme.
This thematic study not only expanded their knowledge but also fostered a sense of curiosity and appreciation for nature.

Our Grade 1 swimming lessons went wonderfully! Most of our swimmers are now comfortable in the water and enjoyed practising with floating devices such as kickboards and pool noodles to strengthen their skills. For our advanced group, they are able to front crawl across the pool with minimal assistance and are now beginning to explore floating on their backs. It is exciting to see their progress and growing confidence in the water!
Grade 2 Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
In Grade 2 music class, students are focusing on playing the pianica for the song "Make a Difference," which will accompany the Grade 3 performance during the upcoming holiday concert in December. This activity not only allows them to practise playing an instrument but also provides valuable experience in accompanying a vocal group, enhancing their listening and timing skills. They are working on mastering the notes and rhythm to create a smooth and supportive background for the performance, contributing to the festive spirit of the concert. Additionally, the students are preparing for their own vocal performance of "Home for the Holidays." Through this combination of instrumental and vocal practice, they are developing both their performance skills and their understanding of musical structure, ensuring a confident and successful concert experience.
Grade 3 English

Grade 3 students are both excited and a little nervous about the big challenge ahead: their exams. They will take part in the Oral English, Listening, Paper 1 (non-fiction), and Paper 2 (fiction) assessments.
The students are enjoying memorising the playful poem “Messy Room” by Shel Silverstein, which each of them will recite in full during exam week. Below, you can see them working together to perfect the words, pacing, and expression.
For the English portion of their Term 2 Project, G3 students are busy creating commercial scripts where they have to use the features of a playscript. Students must include a marketing element, sales element, and a call to action in their script. You can see them below working in their small groups.
Overall, students have put in much effort to master spelling, grammar, language terms, reading, and writing this semester. Well done by all!

Indonesian Language Literature (ILL)

Discovering Indonesia!
In our Indonesian Language Literature (ILL) and Civics classes, we’re exploring the richness of Indonesia’s tourism, from famous mountains to diverse cultural heritage. We’re learning about the unique attractions each place offers and the stories and traditions tied to different regions. These lessons help us appreciate the natural beauty and cultural diversity of Indonesia.
This term’s project is a great way to connect our learning with real-world application: creating a promotional poster for an Indonesian tourism destination or cultural event. Through this project, we get to use our creativity to design posters that highlight what makes each location special. It also allows us to practice our Indonesian language skills by writing persuasive descriptions and using key vocabulary related to tourism and culture.
By working on this project, we’re not only building language skills but also learning to value and promote Indonesia’s cultural richness. It helps us understand the importance of preserving these traditions while developing our own ability to communicate ideas in Indonesian.
