SWA Young Pianists - Rhapsodie Indonesia Piano Competition 2025
Written by Mr. Freddy
Congratulations to our SWA young pianists: Richard (G10), Shao Jie (G7), and Xin Yue (G4) for achieving Diamond Awards with the highest scores in their categories at the Rhapsodie Indonesia Piano Competition 2025, held at ICE BSD on 4–5 October. As one of Indonesia’s most prestigious piano competitions, Rhapsodie Indonesia celebrates exceptional young talents for their musicality, discipline, and artistry.
Through this competition, our pianists discovered that accuracy and technique alone are not enough—every participant at this level already possesses them. True artistry lies in interpretation, expression, and refined sound awareness: understanding contrast in dynamics, tone quality, and the finger control that shapes sound into emotion. Their remarkable achievement reflects not only technical excellence but also a deeper musical maturity. Bravo to SWA young pianists for embodying the spirit of artistry and excellence.

SWA Mid-Autumn Festival
Written by Mr. Ian
With the meticulous preparations of all the teachers and students, the celebration of the traditional Chinese festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, arrived as scheduled.
On 2 October, students, parents and teachers gathered on campus, exchanging festival greetings and participating in various celebration activities organised by the school: parents making tangyuan for students, a Mid-Autumn music drama performance involving all students, experiencing traditional Chinese games, and tasting tangyuan, among other wonderful activities.
In the MasterChef classroom, dozens of parents participated in making tangyuan, presenting the delicious Chinese delicacy to the students; in the theatre, a magnificent music drama was being performed: My Best Friend is the Moon Rabbit. In the GM hall, the activities of tasting tangyuan and experiencing games were in full swing.
These wonderful scenes were just like what was expressed in the program: each beauty in its own way, appreciating the beauty in others, sharing beauty together, and achieving universal harmony!
SWA CSR Community Outreach: Visit to Pondok Lansia Berdikari - Tigaraksa
Written by Ms. Ria
As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, the SWA CSR team conducted a community outreach program at Pondok Lansia Berdikari, a nursing home located in Tigaraksa, on 3 October 2025. The visit aimed to extend compassion and support to the elderly residents through meaningful interaction and tangible assistance.
During the visit, the team organised free health check-ups for the residents, facilitated by volunteer medical professionals, to help monitor and maintain their well-being. In addition, several essential items were donated, including rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, eucalyptus oil, and various cleaning supplies, to help meet the residents’ daily needs.
SWA students actively participated in the program, demonstrating empathy, care, and respect toward the elderly. Their involvement not only contributed to the success of the event but also provided valuable opportunities for the students to develop a sense of social awareness and responsibility.
Through this initiative, it is hoped that the assistance provided will enhance the health, comfort, and overall quality of life of the nursing home residents. The program also serves as a reflection of SWA’s dedication to fostering a culture of compassion, empathy, and service among its students and the wider community.
The SWA CSR team extends its sincere appreciation to the volunteer doctor and nurse for their invaluable support and dedication, which greatly contributed to the smooth and meaningful execution of this activity.
Congratulations to our September 2025 Readers of the Month!
