The Nursery to K2 students joyfully celebrated Grandparents’ Day on 25–26 September 2025, honouring the remarkable love, care, and wisdom that grandparents bring into the lives of their grandchildren.
The children welcomed their beloved grandmas and grandpas with heartfelt performances, a lively dance and a touching song that filled the room with smiles and emotion. The sweet melody of “Happy Grandparents’ Day” echoed through the air, spreading love and appreciation all around.
Each class prepared special bonding activities where grandparents and their grandchildren painted, played games, and created lovely pieces of artwork together. The children also offered their grandparents a moment of relaxation by giving them gentle hand massages and even peeling fruits for them, a simple yet meaningful gesture of gratitude and care.
It was truly a grand time spent with grandparents!

TODDLER - Chinese Language
Written by Ms. Bi Qin
Last term, the children in the Toddler class began an exciting journey of exploring the Chinese language in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. Their learning themes were “My Family” and “My Face (Five Senses)”. Through songs, stories, games, and rich sensory activities, the teacher created a natural and engaging Chinese learning environment.
While learning “My Family”, the children took part in daily-life themed activities such as inviting Daddy to dinner and sending Mommy a heart. They learned to express love for their family members in Chinese and reviewed family-related words through the classic story “The Big Turnip”, experiencing the joy of teamwork and cooperation.
During the “My Face” unit, the children used their little noses to smell the scents of different foods, their eyes to observe shapes, their mouths to sing songs, and their ears to listen carefully. Through these playful experiences, they learned Chinese words such as “eyes, nose, mouth, and ears,” and discovered how language connects closely with everyday life.
Through each fun and meaningful activity, the children learned by playing and spoke while learning, gradually building their interest and confidence in Chinese!
NURSERY - Understanding the World
Written by Ms. Ann
This term, the Nursery children learned all about body parts and the five senses. They discovered how each part works and helps us every day through a variety of fun, hands-on activities.
The students had fun exploring different textures, tasting various foods, and smelling food samples as they discovered how their senses work together. They also learned the importance of staying healthy and clean by giving their dolls a bath, brushing their teeth, and joining a fun aerobics session. The class also discussed the value of getting enough rest, which they enjoyed practising during their cosy Pajama Party. To encourage healthy eating, the children brought fruits and vegetables to share at snack time.
It was truly a meaningful and exciting term as the Nursery children explored and learned how to take care of their bodies.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN - PE
Written by Mr. Victor
In PE, we learned how to line up properly and wait for our turn before starting an activity. Everyone tried their best to stay steady, follow the path, and move safely. After that, we practiced passing or transferring the item nicely to the next person in line. It was such a delight to see how they learned to share and take turns with their friends. Each week, the children became more confident and started to cheer for one another. Their great improvement in coordination, balance, and teamwork. It was also wonderful to see them enjoy the activities and work together as a class.
K1 - Literacy
Written by Ms. Czarina
In Literacy, the students reviewed the letter sounds they had learned before. To make the activity exciting, they played fun games that helped them remember each sound and match it to its letter. These games encouraged teamwork and made learning more enjoyable for everyone. After reviewing the sounds, the students practiced blending them together to form simple words. They were very excited to hear how the sounds joined to make real, meaningful words. Using sight words, the children also practiced reading short phrases.
As they read aloud, their confidence and fluency continued to grow. The students showed great enthusiasm and focus throughout the activities, helping one another when needed. They were eager to take turns reading words and sharing what they had learned. The lesson not only strengthened their understanding of phonics but also built a solid foundation for reading. By combining games, sound blending, and sight word practice, the students learned in a fun and engaging way. It was a joyful and productive session that celebrated their growing confidence and love for reading.
K2 - Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
In Music class, the children are joyfully preparing for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival performance. They are learning not only how to sing the song with the correct melody and lyrics but also how to coordinate their voices with expressive movements. Along with singing, the children are practicing how to play the angklung, focusing on shaking it with the proper technique and timing so that they can produce a clear and harmonious sound as a group. This experience allows them to understand the importance of listening to one another and working together as an ensemble.
In addition to performance preparation, the children are also strengthening their musical foundation. They are exploring the concepts of beat and rhythm through clapping, movement, and percussion activities, helping them develop a strong sense of timing. Furthermore, they are being introduced to the musical staff and learning how to recognise where to place the note heads correctly. This early exposure to music notation builds their understanding of how written music represents sounds, laying the groundwork for future musical literacy.
Through these engaging activities, the children are not only preparing for a special celebration but also building confidence, discipline, and a deeper appreciation of music.

🎉 Grade 1 Wraps Up Term 1 with Joy!
Grade 1 has successfully wrapped up Term 1 with so much excitement and wonderful progress! 🌟 It has been a meaningful term full of learning, laughter, and new experiences. Throughout this term, students explored many interesting topics such as cita-cita (dream jobs), the days of the week, and writing about their holiday plans. ✍️ They learned not only new vocabulary and grammar but also how to express their ideas confidently in Indonesian.
Every activity was filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, from sharing their future dreams to reading stories and singing songs together. 🎶 It was amazing to see how each student has grown more confident, responsible, and creative in class.
We are truly proud of their achievements in Term 1. 💛 However, this is just the beginning, the journey ahead is still long, and there are many more exciting things to learn and discover in the next term. Keep shining, Grade 1! 🌈📚

In Grade 3 music, students have been actively preparing and developing their musical skills throughout the term. Before the term break, they focused on rehearsing for their Mid-Autumn Festival performance, where they sang a beautiful Chinese song and played the pianica with great enthusiasm. This experience helped them build confidence in performing as a group and deepened their appreciation for cultural celebrations through music.
Now, as the new term begins, the students are learning to play the recorder. They are practicing correct playing techniques, including proper posture, hand positioning, and breath control. To make learning fun and goal-oriented, they are following the Recorder Karate program, where they earn coloured “belts” for mastering new songs and skills. Through this program, students are not only improving their musical abilities but also developing discipline, perseverance, and a sense of achievement as they progress through each level.
GRADE 4 - English
Written by Mr. Marc
Hi, this is the Grade 4 students writing. In English Language Class, we had a lot of assessments: three quizzes and one giant test. Overall, we did well. One of the exciting new features in class this year was Mr. Marc’s new assistant Ms. Soma. OK, it wasn’t a real assistant, it was his ChatGPT account that he used to come up with more examples on the spot during class when he was explaining new concepts to us.
Another fun addition to the class was a new activity called SPaG Monsters. It is an online activity where students learn spelling, punctuation and grammar through game play. We love it!
We also like the rewards we get in class. For example, every Monday we got stickers for the work we completed the previous week. Every Friday, if we behaved well and worked hard during the week, then we got to play Dojo Islands, which is a school-friendly online activity where each student has their own character and can interact with each other in the game world.
One of the reading activities we do is Book Club. We take turns reading aloud the class novel then we summarise and discuss the book. It is an important and enjoyable part of reading.
Grade 4 class is amazing, and we are learning so much in English Language Class!
GRADE 5 - Science
Written by Ms. Shirley
The Grade 5 students recently conducted a fascinating science investigation to explore why some objects sink while others float using the water displacement method. In this activity, they measured the mass of a stone and the volume of water it displaced when submerged in a graduated cylinder. By comparing these measurements, students were able to understand how the buoyant force acts on objects placed in water.
To extend their learning, the students took on an exciting boat design challenge. They created boats that could hold as many marbles as possible without sinking. Using their understanding of buoyant force and displacement, they experimented with various shapes and designs to improve the buoyancy of their boats and increase their carrying capacity. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, and scientific thinking, as students applied what they had learned about mass, volume, and buoyancy in a fun and meaningful way.
