International Chemistry Competition (ICQ) 2025
Written by Mr. Billy
Sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them, our students joined ICQ with the mindset of “let’s just give it a try” rather than aiming for top spots. But surprise, surprise, the results turned out way better than expected. Not only did they gain experience, but some even walked away with shiny awards that made all the effort worth it.
A huge congratulations to all our awardees! Your hard work, courage, and willingness to step outside your comfort zone truly paid off. You have not only made the school proud but also inspired your friends to take on new challenges with confidence.

SWA Band Wins 1st Place at JNY Cup 2025 “Battle of the Bands”
Written by Mr. Freddy
We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our Grade 10 band, Equinox, which won 1st Place in the JNY Cup 2025 – Battle of the Bands. Competing against talented groups from Mentari Intercultural School, Raffles Christian School, Pahoa, Bunda Mulia, Saint John’s Catholic School, SHB School, Bakti Mulya, and JNY School, our students stood out with their musicality, creativity, and teamwork.
The band’s members—Qiara (main vocalist), Nathan (rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist), Ricky (lead guitarist), Alanna (drummer), Chloe (keyboardist), and Joy (bassist)—delivered a breathtaking performance with a medley of Evanescence’s Bring Me to Life and Ozzy Osbourne’s Bark at the Moon. Their unique arrangement showcased not only technical skill but also the band’s ability to reinterpret and combine songs into a powerful and original performance. Their passion and stage presence captivated both the judges and the audience, ultimately earning them the top spot. As winners, they were also honored to perform again during the JNY Cup Closing Ceremony, a well-deserved spotlight moment that marked their victory. This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and creativity of our students.
