Our preschoolers joyfully celebrated Literacy Day under the theme “Reading Together, Growing Together.” The event encouraged children to explore the wonderful world of books while enjoying activities that sparked imagination and creativity.
Throughout the three days, students listened to a variety of engaging stories read aloud by their teachers and friends from grade . They eagerly talked about favourite characters, shared ideas, and created colourful crafts inspired by the tales they had just discovered. Classrooms buzzed with excitement as little hands turned pages and bright eyes followed along, fully immersed in each adventure.
Sitting together in small groups, the older children read stories and encouraged lively discussions, fostering meaningful friendships and inspiring a shared love for reading across age levels.
The celebration concluded with a delightful surprise — Mystery Storytellers. Using animated voices and expressive gestures, they captivated everyone with an enchanting tale. As a fun finale, the preschoolers created playful drawings of a sandwich from the story, proudly displaying their artwork.
Literacy Day beautifully showcased how stories connect, inspire, and help young learners grow together.
TODDLER - Understanding the World
Written by Ms. Jill
Our toddlers had an exciting week as we continued learning about body parts, this time focusing on our legs and feet! To kick off the fun, the children went on a sensory walk where each step brought a new surprise. They carefully stepped on sticky paper, their toes touched soft feathers, got their feet tangled on shiny paper strips, and showed bravery walking over cool pebbles and squishy water beads. The different textures made the experience both fun and engaging.
But the excitement didn’t stop there! The children’s eyes lit up as they walked on bubble wrap, enjoying the crackling sounds beneath their feet. To make the activity even more creative, the toddlers used their legs and feet to mix paint, swirling colours together and making wonderful patterns on large paper.
Through these playful activities, the children explored their legs and feet in joyful, hands-on ways while building sensory awareness and creativity.

This semester, the Nursery class focused on learning facial features and family members in Chinese. Under the teacher’s guidance, the children were immersed in a Chinese learning environment through songs, storytelling, movement, picture books, and creative crafts. They learned words such as “eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head,” and practiced using them in simple sentences. They also learned to say “dad, mom, grandpa, grandma,” and other family titles. In class, the children created crafts with colourful paper, painted and decorated with cotton, and expressed themselves through songs and role-play games. With the support of picture books and interactive activities, the teacher built a joyful learning atmosphere, encouraging children to speak Chinese with confidence. By the end of the semester, the children could naturally use the new words in daily interactions, showing both growth and enthusiasm in their Chinese learning journey.

This week in our Indonesian Language class, the Pre-K students explored exciting new lessons filled with fun, laughter, and hands-on activities.
We started with numbers 1 to 10 (satu sampai sepuluh), and practised counting while holding the objects from around the classroom that start with letter ‘b’ like balls (bola), books (buku), and dolls (boneka). They were so proud when they could recognize and say the numbers out loud in Bahasa Indonesia!
One of the highlights was learning about the growth of a sunflower (bunga matahari). Step by step, the students learned that it begins with seeds (biji), grows into a stem (batang), and finally blooms into a beautiful flower (bunga). This nature lesson inspired wonder and excitement, especially when they connected it with our next hands-on activity.
We prepared a sensory activity using real sunflower seeds (kuaci). The students touched and felt the seeds, then practiced counting by placing them on a sunflower picture according to the number shown. This activity combined counting, sensory exploration, and fine motor practice. It was truly a joyful week of learning and growing together!

In K1 PE last session, the children focused on maintaining their lines as they moved through a series of fun runs and challenges along the path. The activities included weaving around cones, crawling through tunnels, and completing rolling challenges that encouraged both coordination and body awareness. Each task gave the students an opportunity to practice staying in order while also discovering different ways their bodies can move.
The session also emphasised patience and teamwork, since keeping the line straight required everyone to wait for their turn and move at the right pace. At the same time, the challenges encouraged creativity and confidence as the children explored movements that were new to them. By practicing these skills regularly, they are developing greater control, balance, and awareness of space.
It was wonderful to see the class bring both energy and excitement to the activities. With more sessions like this, they will continue to build strong foundations for movement and physical confidence.

Our Kindergarten 2 students have been busy learning and having fun this term! They recalled the Jolly Phonics sounds, read the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and practised identifying the letters in their own names along with their sounds. The children also learned sight words, practised reading CVC words, and began copying words and sentences neatly on writing lines.
They built confidence by speaking in front of the class during Show and Tell and project presentations. Their big project this term was My Day. Each child thought carefully about the things they do during a school day—from waking up in the morning, going to school, doing homework, and finally going to bed. They were so proud to share their work and tell their classmates all about their routines.
It has been wonderful to see the children develop new skills as they continue to adjust to Kindergarten 2. We are proud of their progress and look forward to even more achievements next term!

Chinese characters are like fun little drawings, each containing many magical stories. In class, our Grade 1 students discovered that “山” looks like mountain peaks, “口” resembles a little mouth, and “人” looks like a tiny person walking.
The children wrote stroke by stroke, becoming more focused and their characters more beautiful each time. After finishing, they excitedly held up their notebooks and said with big smiles to their teacher and classmates: “Look, this is mine!” At that moment, their eyes sparkled brightly.
Learning Chinese characters is no longer a “challenge,” but a series of fun adventures. Let us give a big round of applause to our children’s lovely “Chinese character masterpieces”!

Grade 2 explored the exciting world of computer networks and the internet. To make the learning more interactive and creative, the students used Canva to design their own computer networks. They were introduced to essential network devices such as computers, servers, switches, routers, and Wi-Fi access points. After learning the purpose of each device, the students carefully placed them in their Canva designs, showing how they connect together to form a functioning network.
To reinforce their understanding, the students added labels to each device, ensuring they could identify and explain its role in the network. This activity not only helped them visualise how the internet works but also developed their digital design and labeling skills. Many students enjoyed making their networks colourful and organised, showing creativity while applying technical knowledge.
Through this activity, students discovered that networks are what allow us to share information, connect online, and communicate across the world. The hands-on use of Canva made the topic engaging and accessible, giving students an early foundation in digital literacy and internet concepts
GRADE 3 - Arts

Through their art activities, Grade 3 students are exploring identity and self-expression through a special mixed media artwork titled “I Am Me.” Each student created a self-portrait in the center of their paper and surrounded it with powerful words that describe who they are—for example, “I am creative,” “I am smart,” or “I am strong.”
To bring their artwork to life, students experimented with a variety of materials. They used watercolour to paint vibrant backgrounds, practising the wet-on-wet technique to blend colours in exciting and fluid ways. Once the backgrounds were complete, students carefully added details to their self-portraits and descriptive words using coloured pencils, markers, and watercolours.
The process was both creative and meaningful. Students enjoyed experimenting with blending techniques, exploring how different media can be combined, and most importantly, reflecting on their unique qualities. The final artworks are bright, expressive, and personal—beautiful reminders that each child has their own strengths and creativity to celebrate.

Practising Mindfulness
At the beginning of every lesson, our Grade 4 students take a few moments to practice mindfulness. This simple yet meaningful routine allows them to pause, breathe, and settle their thoughts before diving into learning.
Mindfulness is more than just a calm start. It plays an important role in supporting students’ well-being. By practising regularly, students strengthen their ability to focus, manage distractions, and develop self-control. These are essential skills not only for academic success but also for handling challenges in daily life.
Through this routine, students learn that taking a mindful pause can help them feel centred and ready, creating a more positive and focused learning environment.

🌱 Planting Ideas, Shaping Futures
This term, our Grade 5 students have been busy working on an exciting hands-on project that combined creativity, sustainability, Mathematics, and Science. They were challenged to design, construct, and test an eco-friendly plant pot prototype. What makes this project special is that the pots were made entirely from recycled materials, showing that innovation can go hand in hand with caring for our environment.
To build their prototypes, the students used solid nets, applying their knowledge of geometry and measurement in practical ways. Each step required careful planning, accurate calculations, and creative problem-solving. It was wonderful to see how they worked both independently and in teams, sharing ideas and finding solutions together.
Adding a unique touch, the students also designed their own project logo. They explored the concept of rotational symmetry, producing creative and eye-catching designs that represented the spirit of their work.
Through this collaboration, Grade 5 demonstrated not only their growing academic skills but also their commitment to eco-friendly innovation. We are proud of their hard work and look forward to seeing how these young problem-solvers continue to create and inspire!
