TODDLER – Understanding the World
Written by Ms. Jill
The Toddler Class explored the sense of touch through their hands and feet. They listened to Here Are My Hands by Bill Martin Jr., which introduced them to the different ways we use our hands and feet.
The children then went on an exciting sensory walk, exploring a variety of textures, including cold pebbles, soft dacron, shiny shredded paper, and grainy sand. They also had fun walking over bubble wrap and listening to the satisfying pops beneath their feet!
To finish the experience, the children used their feet to mix paint by walking, stomping, and sliding across the colourful paint. It was a wonderful sensory adventure filled with texture and discovery!
NURSERY – Music
Written by Ms. Melissa
In Music Nursery, students are becoming familiar with our music routine and more comfortable participating in each session. They are beginning to recognise the lesson structure and enjoy joining in with our Hello and Goodbye Songs, using simple movements and actions to practise following instructions and build confidence.
Students are also developing their sense of rhythm by tapping the tambourine along with the music. They are learning to listen to the beat and coordinate their movements with the rhythm. At this stage, our focus is on exploration, participation, and creating positive musical experiences. It is wonderful to see the children growing in confidence as they enjoy making music together.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Indonesian Language
Written by Ms. Pingkan
In Indonesian Language class, students explored the sounds /i/ in ikan (fish) and /p/ in paus (whale) through stories and hands-on activities.
Through Memancing Bersama Ayah, a digital book featuring Bahasa Lampung and Indonesian, students learnt the names of local fish, such as ikan belida, ikan jelawat, and ikan baung. They then made a fishing craft toy inspired by the story, which they could use for imaginative play in the classroom.
Through Sebesar Apa?, a digital book featuring Bahasa Papua and Indonesian, students explored Raja Ampat, learnt about big and small, and identified sea creatures beginning with /p/, penyu, pari, and paus. They also decorated an underwater scene with a coloured whale picture, appreciating the variety of life under the sea.
K1 – PE
Written by Ms. Sari
In PE, our K1 learners have been developing their movement skills through a variety of fun and active activities. We began with stretching activities, learning how to prepare our bodies safely for physical activity. We then practised running in a zigzag pathway, focusing on changing direction and controlling our movements.
Our learners also explored skipping and galloping, developing coordination, balance, rhythm, and control as they moved. Through these activities, they had opportunities to practise their skills individually and with their friends.
It has been wonderful to see our K1 learners becoming more confident in their movements while developing their gross motor skills. What a fun and active term of moving, learning, and growing together!
K2 – LITERACY
Written by Ms. Klara
What happens when we put sounds together? Words! Our Kindergarten 2 learners have been having fun finding out! We practised reading our sight words and blending phonics sounds to help us become stronger readers.
Working both individually and as a group, we listened carefully to different sounds, put them together, and discovered the words they make. From there, we explored nouns and had fun thinking of as many as we could, then drawing or writing them—people, places, animals, and things!
We then discovered that action verbs tell us what someone or something can do. We brought these words to life by acting out different actions and having fun with movement.
With our growing vocabulary, we also began putting words together to write simple sentences and share our ideas.
What a busy and exciting 1st term of reading, thinking, creating, and learning!
JUNIOR STUDENT COUNCIL
Congratulations to the new Junior Student Council (Jr. Stuco) for the 2026-2027 academic year. We look forward to a year of wonderful collaborations and meaningful impact on our school community. 🎉
G1 – CHINESE LANGUAGE
Written by Mr. Shen
Since the new semester began in August, our Grade 1 students have shown tremendous growth and confidence in Chinese class. They actively participate in daily activities and bravely step up to the front to answer questions. A highlight of our lessons is the new smart whiteboard. The children are fascinated when their own handwriting magically transforms into neat, standard Chinese characters on the screen. This interactive technology has truly sparked their enthusiasm for learning, making every lesson both engaging and full of proud smiles.
G2 – ICT
Written by Mr. Aldrin
Grade 2 students have been learning about Digital Citizenship and how to behave responsibly when using technology. They explored important ideas such as being kind, respectful, safe, and responsible online. Students discussed how their words and actions can affect others when using digital devices and the internet. As a reflection activity, students were asked to draw a picture showing how to be a good digital citizen. They then explained their drawings to demonstrate their understanding. Through this activity, students were encouraged to think about positive digital behaviours and how they can make safe and respectful choices when using technology.
G3 – VISUAL ARTS
Written by Ms. Karla
For this term, Grade 3 Visual Arts focused on the use of materials in creating artwork. Students took inspiration from the arts around them and recreated an artwork with their own flair. This week, students learned about Stained Glass Art, and created faux stained glass drawings using oil pastels. They learned about blending colours to create a gradient and glass effect. This activity helps build their fine motor skills and understanding of form and colour theory. They also learned to appreciate the work that goes into making artworks in seemingly ordinary spaces. From simple pattern making to a more carefully designed faux stained glass art, students are becoming more confident in creating their own artworks and using various materials.
G4 – MUSIC
Written by Mr. Freddy
This term, Grade 4 Music has placed a stronger focus on music theory and notation, giving students more opportunities to develop the foundations needed to become independent music learners. Through regular theory worksheets, students are strengthening their ability to read and write music, supporting more independent practice and rehearsal strategies.
Alongside theory, students continue developing their vocal and instrumental skills through pianica and hulusi. Pianica builds essential keyboard knowledge, while hulusi develops breath control, blowing technique, discipline, and appreciation of Asian musical traditions and their cultural values. Students begin their rehearsal with a hulusi warm-up before working on their main song. Grade 4 is also preparing for a simple yet meaningful Mid-Autumn performance, connecting their musical learning with cultural appreciation and celebration.
G5 – MATHEMATICS
Written by Ms. Pamela
Grade 5 students have been busy bringing Maths to life as they explored shapes, solids, capacity, and volume through hands-on learning and classroom discussions. Instead of simply learning concepts and formulas from the board, students were encouraged to build, explore, ask questions, and discover ideas for themselves.
One focus was 3D solids, where students combined different solids to build their own structures. As they worked, they explored how the solids fit together and discussed their different properties.
Students also took part in classroom discussions and debates, where they were encouraged to explain their thinking, listen to different ideas, and find mathematical evidence to support their answers. Through building, exploring, questioning, and reasoning, Grade 5 students developed a deeper understanding of Maths while becoming more confident in sharing and defending their mathematical thinking.
