TODDLER - Mathematics

The Toddler Class had a BIG time learning about the concept of “big”! The children were surprised by a delivery of a big box filled with big items. They worked together to open the box and excitedly discovered a big bear, big insects, and a big drum. The fun continued as the children painted the big box together, using their creativity to transform it into a special play area. They also enjoyed dancing to the Pinocchio song, moving in and out of a big circle on the floor. It was a wonderful hands-on experience filled with exploration, teamwork, movement, and plenty of BIG smiles!
NURSERY - English

Our Nursery children have been having so much fun discovering letter sounds through Jolly Phonics and playful everyday adventures. They love spotting familiar objects and pictures, joining in with catchy phonics songs, and copying fun actions and sounds as they explore new letter sounds.
But the learning doesn’t stop at phonics time! Our little learners continue to practise their sounds through pretend play, creative crafts, music and movement, and hands-on explorations. Stories related to our lessons are also read aloud, giving the children opportunities to listen, repeat short phrases and familiar words, and build their confidence in using language during show and tell.
They also enjoy practising letter formation by following verbal cues and tracing letters in sensory trays filled with engaging materials.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN - Chinese Language

开学至今，PreK 小朋友开启了生动有趣的中文启蒙课堂。课程围绕认识自己、我的家庭、我的五官三大主题展开,兼顾听、说、读、做、练五大维度,将中文学习自然融入各类课堂活动。课堂上孩子们跟着旋律唱歌跳舞,在情景对话中练习口语表达;丰富的手工活动充分锻炼精细动作:给爸爸剪创意发型,大声说出 "我爱爸爸,我的爸爸帅";拿起彩笔描画自己的五官,自信地拿着画作向同伴介绍自己。同时宝贝们开始接触汉字指读,借助投影、绘本互动认识简单汉字,建立早期文字感知。在轻松的沉浸式课堂环境中,孩子们获得大量开口实践的机会,练习用简单中文介绍自我、描述家人、表达内心感受,在丰富有趣的体验里逐步积累中文语感,建立语言表达的自信心。
Since the semester started, PreK kids have enjoyed a lively Chinese introductory class themed on Self, Family and Five Senses, covering listening, speaking, reading, creating and practising. They sing, dance and role-play to practise oral Chinese. Handcrafts refine fine motor skills: kids cut paper hairstyles for Dad and say, “I love Daddy. My daddy is handsome”, draw facial features and introduce themselves with artworks. They also track-read basic Chinese characters via projectors and picture books to build an early literacy sense. Our immersive classroom offers plenty of speaking chances. Children describe themselves and families, sharing feelings in simple Chinese and building natural language intuition and expression confidence through fun multi-sensory activities.
K1 - Understanding the World

What happens when Kinder 1 becomes a team of little explorers? A whole lot of learning and fun! This week at UW, our young learners went on an exciting journey to discover their five senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. They took their learning outdoors, using their senses to look, listen, smell, and feel as they explored the environment around them. Along the way, they also learnt that keeping our bodies healthy helps us stay active, happy, and ready to learn! The children discovered that energy-giving foods help them play and move, while body-building foods help them grow strong. With curious minds, eager hands, and lots of excitement, our Kinder 1 are discovering that learning is an adventure!
K2 - Indonesian Language

Little Food Detectives!
This week, our K2 children became Little Food Detectives! They learnt about the concept of 4 Sehat 5 Sempurna and the importance of choosing a variety of foods to meet their nutritional needs. Before starting their mission, the children created a “Healthy Plate” craft by arranging different examples of nutritious foods.
Now, it was time to begin the mission! The children carefully observed their own lunch boxes and investigated whether they contained different types of food needed by their bodies. They then placed stickers on their “My Plate” checklist based on the foods they found. Through this fun activity, the children learned that eating a variety of nutritious foods helps their bodies grow healthy and strong and keeps them ready for an active day!
G1 - MATHS

Counting Our Way to 100!
In Grade 1 Maths, we have been building our confidence with numbers up to 100! We have practised counting objects in groups of 2, 5, and 10, helping us count collections more efficiently. We have also explored number patterns and discovered what comes next in a sequence.
Along the way, we have been learning about place value and understanding how tens and ones work together to make a number. Through hands-on activities, games, and mathematical discussions, our young mathematicians are learning to recognise patterns, explain their thinking, and use numbers in meaningful ways. We are excited to see where our mathematical journey takes us next!

课堂上，孩子们积极参与，用清晰响亮的声音大声朗读，洋溢着满满的自信。同学们主动站出来，带领全班同学一起领读。面对有难度的新汉字，他们毫无畏惧、坚持不懈，勇敢地迎接每一个挑战。

As the new semester begins, our Grade 2 students have shown boundless energy and courage in their Mandarin classes!
During lessons, the children participated actively and read aloud with clear, loud voices, beaming with confidence. Students stepped up proactively to lead the entire class in group reading. Facing challenging new Chinese characters, they showed no fear, stayed persistent, and bravely embraced every challenge.
The children's positive learning attitudes and enthusiasm for exploration have set a fantastic example for the new term. We are immensely proud of their passion and bravery! Keep up the great work, Grade 2 students!
G3 - ICT

Grade 3 students had an exciting VEX GO Robotics lesson that connected science, engineering, and hands-on learning. Students explored how elastic energy can be used to create movement by designing and building a car powered by elastic bands. They tested their cars, observed how stored energy was transferred into motion, and made improvements to their designs. The lesson also connected robotics with the life cycle of a frog. Students worked together to build models showing the different stages, from a tadpole to an adult frog. Through these activities, students developed creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills while strengthening their understanding of scientific concepts through practical robotics experiences.
G4 - ARTS

This week, Grade 4 students learnt about Still Life drawing using graphite pencils. They practised composition through observation of the subject in the reference, plotting their spatial positions and transferring these observed images onto their drawing books. After the subjects’ positions have been determined, students then begin their work by identifying and drawing the subjects’ big shapes. Once the foundations were set, they proceeded to work on the details of the drawing and begin their shading. This activity encouraged the students to observe, plan, and practise fine motor skills as well as patience. All of which are essential qualities of a learner in and outside of the art room.

Before diving into their Personal and Social Development lesson, Grade 5 enjoyed a peaceful relaxation session to clear their minds and recharge. Once refreshed, our students explored the power of setting life goals. They discovered how defining a target gives us a clear destination to work towards, providing step-by-step guidance on how to achieve our dreams. Each student reflected on their individual journey by setting meaningful goals across three key areas: personal, social, and academic growth. By mapping out their aspirations, Grade 5 students are learning that every small step brings them closer to turning their biggest dreams into reality!
