As the academic year of 2022-2023 comes to a close, the elementary school community gathers to commemorate the students' efforts and accomplishments. This special day, combining the report card distribution and recognition day marks an important milestone as it is the first fully offline celebration in recent memory. The Trini Dewi Theatre becomes a bustling hub of activity, hosting multiple events in succession, including the EY End of Year Celebration, ES Recognition Day, and MSHS Recognition Day. With proud parents and eager students in attendance, the theatre sets the stage for an unforgettable celebration of achievements and the exciting journey ahead.
EY Recognition Day: A Musical Adaptation
As the year draws to a close, it's time to celebrate the joy, growth, and accomplishments of our little ones. The theme of this year's End-of-school year celebration was "Celebrating our Big Adventure: The Early Years Musical Adaptation," and it truly was a remarkable event filled with excitement and pride. The stage came alive with the vibrant performances of our talented children. They also showcased their best work from the past months during the exhibit.
The year-end celebration was not only a testament to the children's musical abilities but also a celebration of their collective accomplishments. It was an opportunity to appreciate their resilience, teamwork, and commitment to excellence. The performances and exhibition were a culmination of months of hard work, and the pride on the faces of parents, teachers, and students alike was evident in their smiles.
As we bid farewell to another memorable year, we eagerly look forward to the next chapter of their incredible journey, knowing that their future holds even greater adventures.
ES Recognition Day: "Aim for the Stars"
The Elementary School Recognition Ceremony was a significant event that celebrated the milestones and achievements of students in grades 1 to 5. With the theme "Aim for the Stars," the ceremony brought together all elementary students and teachers in a joyous celebration.
The recognition ceremony was opened by a dance number presented by SWA ES dance club, followed by the opening speech by Miss Kelly. Following the speech, Grade 1 and 4 awardees were acknowledged and congratulated on stage as they received their certificates. The ES Choir followed by performing the “Spoonful of Sugar” Song, Grade 1 continued the show by singing and playing the percussion instruments of the song “Great Big House in New Orleans” which was followed by Grade 4 with the Asian medley song. Grade 2 and Grade 3 came next after recognizing the awardees of Grade 2 and 3 on stage. Closing the event, the grade 5 student awardees were called on stage and they sang the heartfelt Farewell medley after being awarded and recognised. It had been an amazing and wonderful one year journey for everyone.
MSHS Recognition Day: "Under the Sea" Spectacle
The MSHS Recognition Day mesmerises the audience with its theme, "Under the Sea." Students and parents alike gather in the theatre, eager to witness a series of remarkable performances. The event commences with the string club enchanting the audience with their rendition of the "Beauty and the Beast" Medley. The stirring voices of Grade 7 and Grade 9 choir singing "Bungong Jeumpa" leave the spectators in awe. The enchantment continues as the Grade 8 and Grade 10 choir serenades the audience with "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." Solo and duet performances by Kyle, Zk, and Nathan from Grade 7 students captivate the crowd, followed by an energetic showcase by the 1Take dancers. The performances continue to unfold, with Grade 6 students enchanting the audience with "Part of Your World," Sophia's mesmerizing solo performance, and a harmonious kulintang rendition of "Under the Sea." Grade 8 students continue to captivate with their impressive performances, and the event concludes with an energising finale by the 1Take dancers, leaving the audience on their feet, applauding and cheering for the incredible talents displayed throughout the day.

Whole School Sports Day
Written by Ms. Lisa
Last week, our campus came alive with exhilaration and competitive spirit as ES and MSHS students gathered for the highly anticipated Whole School Sports Day. The event was a celebration of athleticism, teamwork, and house pride, with students competing fiercely in various activities.
From early morning until late afternoon, the sports fields and courts buzzed with excitement. Students enthusiastically participated in a range of activities, demonstrating their skills and unwavering dedication to their houses, represented by Red Komodo, Yellow Elang, Blue Gajah, and Black Paus.
Beyond the traditional sports, the competition featured a variety of entertaining activities. Students tested their strength and unity in intense tug-of-war battles, dashed towards the finish line in sprint races, and showcased exceptional teamwork, coordination, and ball-handling skills in basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Adding a touch of creativity to the event, the Lip Sync Battle took place, allowing students to showcase their performing talents in a fun and creative way.
The Whole School Sports Day served as a testament to the importance of sports and physical activities in fostering a sense of unity, camaraderie, and healthy competition among SWA students. After a day filled with intense competition, house pride, and thrilling moments, the mighty Gajah House emerged as the overall winner.
Congratulations to Gajah House for their outstanding achievements!
SWA Writing Book and Al-Quran Donation
Written by Ms. Lisa
SWA recently organized a meaningful donation drive to support education and empower students in Serpong and Cilenggang, Tangerang. The initiative involved providing essential writing books and Al-Quran to several elementary schools in the area. The event aligns with SWA's commitment to education and the development of children in Indonesia through sustainable social and environmental programs.
In today's digital era, the use of notebooks, especially for primary school children, remains crucial. The donation of notebooks to elementary students aims to foster the habit of handwriting. Numerous studies have shown that writing on paper offers remarkable benefits, including refining fine motor skills, enhancing literacy skills, and improving memory.
The donation event took place at SDN Cilenggang 2, and we distributed 15,000 writing books and 1,000 Al-Quran to 10 nearby primary schools in the Serpong and Cilenggang areas. This collaborative initiative involved representatives from ES and MS students, parents, and staff, emphasising the school's commitment to community development and character education.
Parents who participated in the donation event expressed that such activities have a positive impact on fostering solidarity among students and helping fellow learners access adequate educational facilities. The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation from the recipient schools, emphasizing the significance of such initiatives in bridging educational gaps and supporting the holistic development of students.
Let us continue to work together, making a positive difference in the lives of students, one book at a time!

With a wide range of activities and insightful talks, the event aimed to explore the endless possibilities offered by the digital landscape while fostering creativity and innovation.
SWA actively participated in three sessions, including talk shows and a robotic showcase, where we shared our knowledge and experiences in the digital and technology field with the audience. The sessions were a great success, thanks to the participation of our dedicated teachers and talented students. They received numerous positive comments and compliments from the audience, which were relayed to SWA by the event committee.
It was truly a memorable experience to have the opportunity to share our strengths and expertise with other communities and the public.
Important Dates to Remember
As the academic year 2022/2023 comes to a close, students will soon embark on a long holiday with their families and friends. However, before you start packing your bags for the family trip, please take note of the following important dates in preparation for the upcoming academic year 2023/2024.
ID Card Exchange and Car Sticker Distribution
As the new academic year of 2023/2024 approaches, there will be updates and changes happening in various areas. One important aspect that requires attention is the ID card, which has been in use for many years. It now needs to be refreshed, and it may also be necessary to update the student's picture. Therefore, we kindly request parents to complete the attached form and send updated photos of your family members, guardians, nannies, or drivers, along with the relevant car information for the replacement of car stickers. Please note that your child's picture will be based on their previously taken by King Photo.
Please ensure that you fill out this form and send it back to us no later than 10 July 2023. This will allow us enough time to prepare your family ID cards and car stickers, which will be ready for distribution on August 4, 2023, during the parent induction day.
If you need any assistance, please contact us at eyes_admin@swa-jkt.com or mshs_admin@swa-jkt.com.
