Sinarmas World Academy Teacher Attends IB Strategic Meeting
Written by Mr. Haoken
Sinarmas World Academy is pleased to share that one of our faculty members, Mr. Ahmad, recently attended a significant event organised by the International Baccalaureate (IB) from 27 to 29 of February. Mr. Ahmad was invited to participate in the IB Subject Strategic Meeting in Cardiff, UK, highlighting his expertise as the IB Senior Examiner for Indonesian B Subject.
During the meeting, educators collaborated to share best practices in standardised exam paper development, with a particular focus on integrating more IT into the exam process. This participation reflects our institution's commitment to staying abreast of global educational developments. We anticipate the insights gained will benefit both our faculty and students.
This involvement in the IB Subject Strategic Meeting also underscores Sinarmas World Academy's dedication to educational excellence and fulfilling the vision of shaping the future as a dynamic learning community that embraces Asia and engages globally. We extend our congratulations to Mr. Ahmad and look forward to implementing the knowledge gained for the betterment of our academic community.

FLAME 2024 isn't just another event; it's a celebration of artistic expression and musical talent. It's a day when our school community comes together to appreciate and embrace the beauty of art in all its forms. From stunning visual displays in our art exhibition to the harmonious melodies of our choir clinic and the electrifying performances in the music competition, FLAME 2024 promises to be an unforgettable experience for all.
At the heart of FLAME 2024 lies our commitment to nurturing the values and principles that define our school. The event embodies our dedication to holistic education and the development of well-rounded individuals.
The choir clinic aims to foster teamwork and collaboration. Singing also enhances confidence and self-expression, making it an invaluable experience for kids and teenagers alike.
Participants for the music competition who were selected through auditions in music class, will compete in two categories: basic and advanced. While the choice of instrument is open, it's the participant's sound production, pitch accuracy, tempo, and interpretation that will shine through. Parents are encouraged to join us in the music room to support their children as they take centre stage and unleash their musical brilliance.
FLAME 2024 isn't just about the competition; it's about celebrating the joy of making music, fostering creativity, and creating lasting memories. Research has shown that engagement in music enhances cognitive abilities, fosters creativity, and promotes social skills, making it an essential component of students' growth and academic support.

Health and safety update
It is a standard procedure in SWA to conduct a whole school general cleaning every weekend, however, we would like to update you of the extra measures that were implemented especially during sensitive periods such as flu season, and the like. Deep cleaning operations are of utmost importance at this time and we thank our cleaning services and SWA staff for the maximum effort exerted and close monitoring of all the buildings to ensure that our school is safe and clean.
Cleanliness is simply not the absence of dirt but a characteristic of the people or users. Let us do our share. Let us respect the surroundings and practise personal hygiene wherever we may be. Wearing masks is encouraged for the safety of oneself and others, and it's also essential to prioritise proper handwashing at all times.
