TEXTBOOKS AND WORKBOOKS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2023-2024
In preparation for the next academic year, 2023-2024, all students are required to have the complete set of textbooks and resources prescribed by the school. Parents are given the choice to buy their child(ren)’s books on their own (external vendors) or through the school, with the option to buy new books or second-hand books (based on the school library’s availability). Please be informed that all students are required to have original copies. Photocopied/scanned books are not allowed to be used at school in accordance with copyright regulations.
For the upcoming academic year 2023-2024, Book Order Forms can be accessed from Fiori Parent Portal starting from Monday, January 30th, 2023 to Friday, February 10th, 2023. Refer to https://swa-jkt.com/bookorder-guide.pdf for the user manual of the Book Order Form.
Procedures for the Book Purchase for the academic year 2023-2024 are as follows:
Parents/MSHS students access the Book Order Forms from SWA Fiori Portal (https://portal.swa-jkt.com).
Parents/MSHS students are expected to complete/submit the form and parents to make the payment for the order at the latest on Friday, February 10th, 2023.
Kindly note that the system will automatically cancel all orders, for which payment has not been settled at the end of the period (Friday, February 10th, 2023).

CONGRATULATIONS
INTERNATIONAL CHEMISTRY QUIZ (ICQ) 2022 Awardees

Congratulations to all students who took part in the International Chemistry Quiz 2022, hosted by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), on October 21st, 2022.
The ICQ competition is dedicated to promote and encourage awareness of the nature and relevance of chemistry amongst secondary school students. Their goal is to interest students in the further study of chemistry and help illustrate to students the important role chemistry plays in our society. Questions were based on the fundamental aspects of chemistry as well as questions involving its application in modern society.
Gary (G11) and Jing Xiong (G10) both received the High Distinction award, the highest award achieved by the Indonesia region for 2022.
Janice (G9) received the Distinction award while Jaeyi (G10) received the Credit award.
We are so proud of you. Keep up the good work!

SCHOOL PHOTO
The annual SWA school photo is finally back after 3 years!
We will have the school photo on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023. There will be individual photo sessions and group photo sessions. The details of the dress code, schedule, and venue are in this link. LIBRARY CORNER
The Library team has been busy preparing for the Lunar New Year. Bunnies hopping around and books focusing on the celebration and family traditions can be seen for the month of January. It was also a delight to see the Nursery class visit the library and explore the hundreds of picture books that not only improve literacy but also teach valuable life lessons.
We look forward to holding wonderful library events in 2023 and here's to wishing everyone more reading adventures!
PRIVATE MUSIC CLASS
Most of us come across music every day, whether that be on the radio, TV, gadgets, or even on the street. As music is the world's universal language, it can bring people together through the instruments they play.
To further enrich musicality and creativity, SWA is now offering private classes to students, parents, and staff.

SWA LITERACY PROGRAMME
Your partner in building a strong foundation in English literacy skills is here. Join the SWA Literacy Programme! The SWA Literacy Programme features JOLLY PHONICS for ages 3-6. It is a comprehensive programme that employs a child-centred and multisensory approach to teaching the 42 sounds of the alphabet, which motivates children to build words as early as possible.
The programme is also offered to Elementary School students aged 7-11 years old. In this programme, literacy skills, (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), are further developed through exposure to stories of various genres. The language exercises are combined with activities that focus on comprehension skills (eg. summarising, inferencing, comparing and contrasting) that they can apply to all reading situations.
