What to do to be ready for Orientation:
Check out this website- Congrats! You are off to a great start. This site has all kinds of information to help you feel prepared for orientation.
Check your schedule- find out who is your advisory teacher. Your schedule is posted in your Infinite Campus Account
Check your email- look for special information from administration, your counselor, or Advisory teacher.
Watch this video! It's about our recycling and composting program at Silver Creek. There will be games and activities based on information from this video during Orientation
What to expect during Orientation Day:
Once arriving on campus, students will be ushered into the auditorium for a presentation, then grouped together based on their advisory teacher. This will be done in the courtyard in front of the building.
Student Ambassadors will lead students through a series of campus activities and give them a tour of the building during the morning. Then students will have a free lunch before finally walking through their class schedule in the afternoon to meet their teachers.
Lots of walking and activities so travel light! You will only need your charged iPad, water bottle, and comfortable clothes for indoor and outdoor activities. DO NOT BRING ITEMS FOR YOUR LOCKER! YOU WILL HAVE TO CARRY THEM ALL DAY.
Both breakfast and lunch will be served that day in the cafeteria.
What to expect when arriving on campus:
Please arrive at Silver Creek High School between 7:25 and 7:45. Be mindful of pedestrians and staff in our busy parking lot. Follow all signage and be respectful of staff assisting with traffic flow.
You may park in the lot if you need time to unload your vehicle or if you need to come into the building. Otherwise, please pull through the traffic circle for a quick drop off.
Buses will be running that day for students who have signed up to ride the bus during the school year. If you'd like information about bussing, click here.
What to expect as you leave campus:
You will see your teachers and RLC Student Ambassadors as you out of the building when the final bell rings at 2:41 (this time is specially arranged for orientation day, school normally ends at 2:45). At this time, students are excused to leave for the day or to an extra curricular activity depending on the coach or sponsor's requirements.
