Mrs. Eggemeyer is thrilled to bring her experience to Red Hawk Elementary’s musical productions—especially behind the scenes! A BFA graduate in Musical Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University, she performed professionally across the country in roles like Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain, Val in A Chorus Line and Velma in Chicago. As a dedicated Red Hawk mom to a 1st and 2nd grader, she is excited to join Mrs. Hankins in leading stagecraft this year, helping students build sets, learn all things technical theater, and participate in stage crew. Thank you for trusting me with the chance to share my love of theatre with your children. As both a parent and someone who has spent years on and off the stage, I know how powerful these experiences can be. My hope is that through StageCraft, your kids will not only learn how to paint sets, create props, and work as part of a team, but also discover the same magic and joy of theatre that has stayed with me throughout my life. More than anything, I want them to leave with memories, friendships, and a love of theatre that will inspire them for years to come.
Mrs. Hankins is a lifelong lover of theatre who never had the desire to be on stage, but appreciates musicals from the audience. She is the proud parent of a first grader and a third grader at Red Hawk. Her daughter has become passionate about acting and participating in musicals. Seeing her daughter's confidence blossom as she participates in theatre inspired Melanie to get more involved backstage and support the theatre program at Red Hawk. She has volunteered backstage at several productions at Red Hawk and The Arts Hub in Lafayette. She is so excited to help Mrs. Eggemeyer and get to know all of the stagecraft kids this year!
