Below, you will find some of my recent work and creations I am most proud of from this Master's Program. I've divided it into sections based on the classes I took over the course of the Learning Design and Technology program. I have also connected my learning to the five LDT Core Competencies in the drop-down text connected to each heading. You can read more in-depth on the Competencies page.
This course examines definitions, history, core concepts, and current trends and issues related to the practice of learning design and technology. Topics include instructional systems design, theories of learning and instruction, change management, performance improvement, emerging technologies, equity and access, and mobile learning.
This course explored the inquiry and change, reflective practices, and digital media and technology competencies.
This was the very first group project I helped work on for this Master's program. This was created to give other teachers background knowledge on Hybrid Learning, which we would end up using in our profession about 3 months later. Thank you to Suzy Evans, Mackenzie Turrill, Saundra Shaeffer, Emma Dehner, Stephanie Holladay, and Sarah Harris for allowing me to share our project and creating this together!
This is a Sketchnote about the benefits of Sketchnoting!
This reflection on Equity in Educational Internet Access was created in the Summer of 2020, after finishing the 2019-2020 school year from home, due to the global pandemic. During the 2020-2021 school year we ended up teaching completely digitally, in a hybrid model, and in-person.
There are six badges that can be earned through the district in order to become blended certified. I have completed all six badges and use the practices learned on a regular basis in my classroom every day.
These courses helped me explore the learning experience and design, digital media and technology, reflective practices, and inquiry and change competencies.
I created this outline while completing one of the 6 Blended Badges through the St Vrain Valley Professional Development courses. This really breaks down the pillars of Blended Learning and how to really implement them in a classroom.
The following documents are different styles of lessons created while earning the 6 Blended Badges. They explore various aspects of Blended Learning and it's many styles and strategies.
Instructional planning and design is the foundational process used to discover, ideate, prototype, design, deliver, and evaluate effective learning solutions. In this course, you will identify a relevant gap in knowledge, skill, and/or performance, and plan and design a solution framework to effectively address the identified gap.
This course helped me explore learning experience and design and reflective practice competencies.
This course reviews the uses of digital storytelling (DST) for learning. Develop and publish a short digital story that tells something important about you and your interests. Explore ways of creating or using digital stories that can aid learning and personal growth.
This course helped me explore digital media and technology, learning experience and design, inquiry and change, and reflective practice competencies.
When given total creative freedom, I decided to challenge myself by using an app that I had heard the kiddos use and loved, but had never even opened myself. The story of the Great PB&J, an iteration of The Hero's Journey smashed with how to make a Peanut Butter and Jelly, was so fulfilling. It was way more difficult than I had anticipated it to be, but so worth it in the end. Enjoy!
Students created a silhouette to pair with the essay they wrote and researched on an African American Hero. This was one of the many strategies I learned that could be used as a formative or summative assessment. You could really tell which students dove into their research and which ones only swam at the surface.
This was the final in my series of three stories for this Digital Storytelling class. This was also my first time using Google Sites. Working with Emma Dehner made this process all the more fun.
This Podcast is a reading from Rachel Carson's Under the Sea Winds chapter 6. As we read about the life of Carson, I wanted to expose my students to her writing. This recording helped us understand her writing. It gave us an opportunity to discuss good writing and be specific on what made her writing so special and what we could put into our own writing.
The focus of this course is to explore the models of inquiry-based learning and strategies for implementation. Students will create, implement, and reflect on an inquiry-based unit to apply their learning.
This course helped to explore inquiry and change, learning experience and design, and reflective practice competencies.
Students followed the Guided Inquiry Design model to learn more about space, and ultimately answer the question, Why should humans care about what's in space?
In this course, students examine research surrounding the design and delivery of professional learning (PL) programs in P12 settings. Projects and activities address: adult learning; PL models; design and; performance support and evaluation; career development and digital presence; and online tools.
This course helped to explore the professional learning and leadership and reflective practice competencies.
This presentation can be used as a reference for any teaching in a mentoring situation.
This presentation is an overview of coaching and its core principles and beliefs.
The focus of this course is on how educators leverage networked social tools, technologies, and environments to address educational needs, opportunities, and problems of practice; and establish and nurture their own professional learning through through participation in digital cultures.

You are currently exploring the results of this course. While we also discussed personal branding, digital citizenship, creating a domain of one's own, and other digital topics, a major accomplishment of this course was creating this Basecamp site.
This course gives repeated opportunities for inquiry by professionals in learning design and technology. Each inquiry involves framing a need or question, finding and analyzing evidence and relevant information, and forming a judgment or conclusion with implications for action. Inquiry topics include career development, teaching and learning, data literacy, and methods for curating and sharing learning resources.
This course helped me explore professional learning and leadership, reflective practices, and digital media and technology competencies.
The following are all research. projects I did in order to prepare and expand on the knowledge I gained from this degree program and prepare for my internship project. All of the projects center around Inquiry Based Learning and the many ways it can benefit students.
The purpose of the internship is to provide an authentic opportunity to apply gained LDT skills to a work setting (e.g. classroom, school, district).
Throughout this project I used my knowledge in digital media and technology, learning experience and design, inquiry and change, professional learning and leadership, and reflective practice.
I created a PD on how to integrate Inquiry and ELA in order to increase student agency and engagement in the classroom. This was a one-time 90 minute PD session open to teachers in the Longmont Feeder of St Vrain Valley School District. I structured this PD to follow the steps of Guided Inquiry Design (GID) in order to introduce the model and immerse participants in the process. To dive deeper into inquiry and the GID model, I created a game board that made looking at different styles of resources more engaging.
