I am constantly creating things for the classroom using a variety of platforms. The Google Suite, Book Creator, Canva, and many of the applications my students have access to. Here are some of my favorite creations.
I have created and used the following items in my classroom: Many of these things were created during the 2020-2021 school year when the need for blended learning and high-engagement activities was high. However, several items are still used and modified every year to help students connect to our content. These templates and lessons have been used in my classroom by real fourth and fifth graders. A brief description is provided with each item. I've also included some unit plans and downloadable content for any teachers or administrators who are interested. To maintain student privacy, no student examples have been provided here. However, if you would like to see some examples, or give feedback on what you see, please head to the "Connect with Me" section of my site.
This game board was created during the summer of 2025. I utilized all of the Powerful Teaching Power Tools and strategies to create a template that could be updated for any content area as a retrieval day activity. As of June 2025, it currently helps viewers retrieve, space, interleave, and provide feedback for the Powerful Teaching Power Tools and strategies up to chapter 6.
I created this poster to help students use Sora, a digital library, to the best of their abilities! Many students don't even know where to start when it comes to looking for a book that is interesting. Hopefully, following these tips can get students reading something they love.
A canva template created for students to make a brochure about a biome they have researched. Students in the past have gone beyond this outline and included relevant videos to give digital purpose to their digital borchure.
I love celebrating this olympics in the classroom! For the first time, my classroom celebrated the Paralympics in Paris. During the winter olympics, my students will choose a Paralympic Athlete to follow and create their own project on to teach others. However, because the Paralympics started before we had been in school for a month, I created a template to help guide the project. I can't wait to do this again for the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy!
This is a project I created in my first year of teaching. I used this during my Small Group Reading time and this allowed students to organize their thinking and then connect with one another. It was fascinating to see how different each of their notebooks came out to be, even though they were all given the same base page to start with.
This slideshow is the overview of an economics unit we do for the last month of the school year. Students learned to manage their own money by receiving a paycheck, balancing a checkbook, and paying bills, like desk rent. Students also learn how to run a business, using our Entrepreneurial Design Framework in preparation for two Sanborn City Market Days during the last few weeks of school. This is just the beginning of a very engaging economics unit.
During the 20-21 school year, I utilized Book Creator more than I ever had before. I discovered how to make templates for my students to use and then turn in. Students love being able to be creative and share their thinking in a new way. The following school year, we adapted this template to be an end of the year reflection. Click on the image below to get an epub copy of this Reflection Template!
I created these infographics with an educator's view in mind. The purpose of these infographics is primarily to troubleshoot common problems, communicate the benefits of certain educational ideas, and to provide visual directions.
I created this infographic to help troubleshoot one of the most common problems in my building: creating Google assignments in Schoology.
As I have learned more and become a teacher leader in my building, I have created a variety of projects for different purposes in my building. Here are a few of the most recent offerings.
As a member of the PSCC at Sanborn, we plan and I lead our school wide Late Start Assemblies. To review our school expectation acronym, SOAR, we used Magic School AI to create a picture book style story, then used Canva's AI Image Generator to create the pictures. I then narrated and enhanced the story using iMovie.
I created this logo to accompany our school wide behavior expectation SOAR. This design was then turned into stickers that were given to every student and staff member!
To help advertise the annual Tribute to Teachers celebration and voting for Teacher of the Year, I created this flyer in both English and Spanish that went home with every student.
I also create most of the visuals and presentations that accompany our Late Start and Celebration Assemblies. However, due to student privacy, I cannot share those on the internet. If you are interested in seeing a template of that work, please use the Google Form in the Connect with Me section of my site.
An unexpected joy I discovered through my coursework at CU Denver and my Master's Cohort was my love of leading Professional Development. I have taken several opportunities to lead professional development for my staff on Late Start Days (time set aside each month for staff development and collaboration), and PLC times, and I have even taught a class on Guided Inquiry.
This PD was co-created in 2021 as a way to earn buy-in on Learning Targets in our building. The coworker and I who created this scavenger hunt wanted teachers to be able to move at their own pace, both physically and mentally, while gathering a common understanding of why it is important to use Learning Targets in the classroom. Some information and/or videos have been removed for privacy.
This PD on Guided Inquiry Design was the first PD I taught to teachers and librarians outside of my building. This was also the focal point of my final semester in my master's program. Information has been removed to protect student and teacher privacy.
This is the most recent PD I have presented (January 2025). I implemented student-led conferences in February 2024 as a pilot in my building. I gathered resources, created templates, and recorded conferences, with parent permission, to onboard my staff for February 2025 conferences. Student videos have been left intact, however, you must be a part of the St Vrain Valley School District to view them, as that is the parent permission I have to share these videos. The examples of their slides have been removed for student privacy.
