Letters and Sounds
Letters and Sounds
Letters and sounds are the building blocks of reading. In kindergarten, children use them to read and write words. Children who know most letter names and sounds are better prepared to learn, and often feel more confident.
The do-together activities below are simple ways to help your child practice letters and sounds. You can do them at home using things you already have. Try one or two at a time and keep it fun. Even a few minutes each day can help your child learn and feel more confident.
Be sure to watch the video to hear the letters of the alphabet, and the sounds they spell!
