About

Mrs. Kellerman

Hello! My name is Mrs. Christine Kellerman and I am your child's second grade teacher! I am starting my first year at Sugar Valley Rural Charter School. I am looking forward to what is going to be a great school year! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and I cannot wait to hear all the stories you will have to share!

I am a Lock Haven University Alumni as of December 2018 and I received my Bachelor's Degree in PreK-4/Early Childhood Education. I have learned quite a bit from my years at LHU, and I am ready to take that knowledge and use it in my students and I's classroom!

In my free time I like to read, take walks, and be with family and friends. You will hear a lot about my pup, Diesel, as well as my crazy husband, throughout the school year. He is a very energetic boy and I'll have lots of fun stories. One fun fact about me is that I am originally from Gettysburg. I moved to the area for college and have been here since!

My Teaching Philosophy

I strongly believe that learning should be fun for students. My goal is to have my kids be excited to come to school. I want them to want to learn. In order to achieve this, students need to be engaged. I feel students need to be hands on with their learning and take part in it.

In order to achieve these goals, I plan on using all resources available to me. I plan on using fun, interactive resources such as kahoot, boom cards, blooket, and many more. My goal is to also provide as many opportunities for hands on learning as possible. I feel when students can link an experience to what they're learning, they are better able to retain the knowledge.

I want students to love coming to school. When the students are choosing and enjoying their experience, they build a life long love for learning. I am excited to see where the year goes!
