Preparedness (4pts.)- Students are responsible for bringing their materials at the start and duration of every rehearsal. Students may receive a materials deduction if they come to class without any of the following materials. The following are examples of day to day things and are not limited to:

Punctuality (1pt.) - Students are expected to be in their seats ready to play at the bell. “Ready to play” is defined as having all required materials, sitting in your assigned seat and fully assembled by the designated time. Due to first period attendance, all unexcused tardies will also result in discipline action outlined in the district attendance policy.
Lesson Attendance and Participation (35%)
All students will attend one lesson each six-day cycle scheduled on a rotating basis. Students are expected to come to lessons prepared and showing evidence of practice/improvement. This is where more personal focus on individual technique and performance takes place. A student’s lesson grade is divided into three different categories: effort, preparedness & punctuality.
Concerts (20%)
Musical performances and concerts are considered to be an integral part of the music program. It is mandatory that students attend and perform in all scheduled concerts and performances involving organizations to which they belong. The complete concert attendance and dress policy can be found on our school’s website.
Playing Assessments & Written Assignments (15%)
Band members will have periodic playing assessments in order to evaluate their individual progress throughout the year.
