Classroom Rules
Do NOT disrupt class.
Be respectful.
Listen and follow direction.
Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
Show respect for school and personal property.
Laboratory Rules
Upon entering the room do not touch equipment, chemicals, and other materials until instructed to do so.
Do not eat, drink or chew gum.
Read and follow procedures.
Never fool around. Remain in your seats unless instructed otherwise.
Clean all work areas before you leave the classroom. Always follow directions for cleaning and disposal of waste.
Know locations of safety equipment (fire extinguisher, fire blanket and eye wash).
Report all accidents to the teacher, do not attempt to clean broken glass or chemicals.
Do not touch, taste, or smell any chemicals unless instructed to do so.
A test tube should never be pointed toward your face when mixing or heating chemicals.
Consequences
Students are expected to follow classroom and laboratory rules to maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. If a student chooses not to meet these expectations, the following consequences may occur:
Step 1: The student will receive a Discipline Reflection Report and will be expected to summarize and reflect on the reason for the disciplinary action.
Step 2: The student will receive a second reflection report. A parent/guardian will also be contacted by email or phone that evening.
Step 3: The student will receive another reflection report, and a written referral will be submitted to the principal. A parent/guardian will also be contacted by email or phone that evening.
Please note that disciplinary consequences may be adjusted based on the severity and nature of the incident. Serious incidents may result in immediate administrative involvement or consequences beyond the steps outlined above.
