Grading Policy

The overall course grade for Global History & Geography I is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a locally created midterm examination in January and a locally created final examination in June (each counting as 10% of the overall grade).

The overall course grade for United States History & Government is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a locally created midterm examination in January and the New York State Regents examination in June (each counting as 10% of the overall grade). Students must successfully pass both the course AND the Regents examination.

The overall course grade for Advanced Placement United States History is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a locally created midterm examination in January and the New York State Regents examination in June (each counting as 10% of the overall grade). Students must successfully pass both the course AND the Regents examination. The Advanced Placement Examination in May does NOT count as a part of a student's average.

• In addition to local and Regents credit, eligible students will be able to earn up to 6 college credits from Mohawk Valley Community College by completing the requirements for History 111 between September and the end of January as well as History 112 between February and June.

The overall course grade for 50s, 60s, & 70s is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a final project to be completed in June (the project counts as the final 20% of the overall grade).

• In addition to local credit, eligible students will be able to earn 3 college credits from Mohawk Valley Community College by completing the requirements for History 113 between September and June.
