Grading Policy

Global History & Geography I

The overall course grade for Global History & Geography I is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a locally created midterm examination in January and a locally created final examination in June (each counting as 10% of the overall grade).

United States History & Government

The overall course grade for United States History & Government is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a locally created midterm examination in January and the New York State Regents examination in June (each counting as 10% of the overall grade). Students must successfully pass both the course AND the Regents examination.

Advanced Placement United States History (MVCC History 111 & History 112)

The overall course grade for Advanced Placement United States History is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a locally created midterm examination in January and the New York State Regents examination in June (each counting as 10% of the overall grade). Students must successfully pass both the course AND the Regents examination. The Advanced Placement Examination in May does NOT count as a part of a student's average.

50s, 60s, & 70s (MVCC History 113)

The overall course grade for 50s, 60s, & 70s is based on four marking period averages (each counting as 20% of the overall grade), as well as a final project to be completed in June (the project counts as the final 20% of the overall grade).
