Grading PROCEDURES & POLICIES
GRADING:
The grading procedures are as follows:
HOMEWORK
Expect it daily.
Some days you’ll get full credit just for trying every problem, other days it will be graded for accuracy.
You won’t always know in advance so always do your best.
Worth 2 points unless told otherwise in advance. To get full credit:
Every problem must be attempted
ALL work must be shown
must be done in pencil
NO LATE HOMEWORK will be accepted for credit (unless the student was legally absent from school.)
Part of the purpose of homework is going over it to find and learn from mistakes. We go over the homework daily in class. If homework is turned in late students won’t have an opportunity to learn from their mistakes when we go over it.
If homework is not completed students may be asked to meet during lunch to do it, but not for credit.
QUIZZIES, QUIZZES, and TESTS:
Quizzies:
may or may not be announced in advance
if unannounced, it will be open-note
usually worth 2-15 points
Quizzes:
always announced in advance
normally worth 15-30 points
lowest one will be dropped at the end of the quarter
Tests:
given at the end of each unit
a review sheet similar to the test will be given prior, and is the best study guide
normally 40-60 points each
corrections are expected to be done in class, but won’t result in extra credit
re-tests are not given
WEEKLY REVIEWS:
will be given every week
will cover anything/everything learned since September
could be an IXL, a Google Form, or on paper
usually worth 10-20 points
due every Friday
late Weekly Reviews will be accepted until the following Friday, with a deduction of 1 point per day.
Students may come in during Extra Help Times to get assistance or to have their Weekly Reviews checked over prior to the due date.
(In other words, if you don’t procrastinate you can always get a 100 😀)
CLASSWORK/PROJECTS
may be given through the year
EXTRA CREDIT
very rarely offered
when offered, it is given to the entire class and not on a student-by-student basis
