Our Classroom Expectations
RULES:
Our school has 4 basic rules, which also apply to this class:
1. Be on time.
2. Be prepared with necessary materials.
3. Keep hands, feet, objects, and inappropriate comments to yourself.
4. Follow the rules of the person in charge.
Failure to follow the rules will result in consequences consisting of lunch detentions and office referrals.
REQUIRED MATERIALS NEEDED DAILY IN CLASS:
Scientific Calculator (TI-30XIIS preferred)
1 composition notebook
1 plastic folder with prongs (can be left in classroom)
1 folder for the current work (this can be your “home folder” for all your classes)
Pencils and erasers (all hw must be done in pencil)
Pen (homework corrections will be done in pen)
Highlighter
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY:
will NOT be tolerated under any circumstances (ex. cheating and/or copying)
will result in a 0 for all parties.
There is a difference between “helping” a friend, and giving a friend the answers.
“Working together” means all students are doing all the work together, and discussing it as they do so.
IT IS EXPECTED THAT STUDENTS WILL SEEK EXTRA HELP WHEN NEEDED.
EXTRA HELP AVAILABILITY:
5th period on even days
During 7th grade lunch (Arrangements must be made in advance. We can eat lunch while working.)
During the 2nd half of periods 7 and 8
After school is often difficult for me, but arrangements can be made (at least 1 day in advance) if the student isn’t available during the above times.
***ABSENCES***
If you are absent we will miss you, but we must move on without you.
It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check Google Classroom for the missed work.
There will usually be a video of the missed lesson in Google Classroom. Do not ask for help until you’ve watched the video and taken notes.
For a single day absence, homework, tests, and quizzes must be made up within 2 days of returning.
For a 2 day absence, 3 days will be given. Etc.
Music lessons do not count as an absence.
Tests and Quizzes
If you are only absent the day of the test, be prepared to take it the day you return.
If you are absent leading up to a test, but present the day of the test, it is YOUR responsibility to remind Mrs. Weaver that you may not be ready. You will be given time to catch up while others take the test.
It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to see Mrs.Weaver RIGHT AWAY to reschedule quizzes and tests when absent.
If you must take it during math class, it will be your responsibility to watch the video on the notes you missed during class, and to be caught up by the next day.
Points will be deducted for failure to make up tests and quizzes in a timely manner.
