Our Classroom:
We are a family.
We are in this together.
We are unstoppable!
Welcome to ELA6 with Mrs. Purrington!!!!
Welcome to ELA! I am so excited about this year, and I am so excited that you are here!!!! My goal is to help you become a stronger and more independent reader and writer...and have a lot of fun along the way! Yes, there will be challenges, but we are in this together!
Together, we can and will...
To help you be successful in ELA:
Be sure to have your materials each day: red folder, binder, pencil, eraser, and homework folder
Participate! Discussions and asking questions are so important to help us understand and learn in ELA! Don’t watch our class; I want you to BE this class!
Do your homework! Please don’t leave blanks; just give me your best effort. We will celebrate your strong answers and learn from the mistakes!
If you are having trouble, let me know asap so I can help! I will help you during class (when possible), lab, 7th period, 8th period, or we can even set up a Google Meet after school. Never just stay quiet and confused; I promise I can and will help!!
Be OK with making mistakes! It doesn’t mean you are bad in ELA...it means that you are human! (I know because I make a lot of them!) Learning from your mistakes is a great way to learn!!
Be willing to try something even if you are unsure of yourself! Be willing to be creative! Be willing to do something even if you think you might not get the right answer. Trying something new will teach you something new!!
Stay positive! You can do anything you put your mind to!! Remember...you are UNSTOPPABLE!
