Meet the Teacher

I am very excited to start a new year in fifth grade science.  Let me share with you a bit about myself.  I grew up right here in Sauquoit.  I attended Sauquoit schools from pre-k all the way up through twelfth grade.  As a Sauquoit graduate, it is an honor to teach in the district that was home to me for so many years.

I live in Frankfort, NY with my husband and two of our three children.  Our oldest daughter is married and has two kids, (so yes I am a grandma even if I don't look that old LOL!) She and her husband live right across the street so I get to see my grandsons all the time.  My son is a Social Studies teacher at Herkimer BOCES in the VP-Tech program.  My youngest daughter is working as a restaurant associate and is attending college at MVCC.

For fun, I love to go camping, being outdoors, riding bikes, playing with my grandkids, and reading.  I also am very active in my church, teaching Sunday School and being a part of the children's ministry there.  While I love outdoor activities, I also enjoy playing board games and the occasional video game - my kids alway beat me at Mario Kart and Mario Party.  My favorite shows to watch are baking shows.  I love Kids Baking Championship, The Great Bristish Baking Show, Bake Squad and others.

Science is a favorite subject of mine as it encompasses everything.  I love teaching it and it is different every year as students enter with different questions, curiosities, and interests.  I look forward to learning more about each of you in the coming year.  We are going to have a lot of fun together and learn so much!  That is my favorite thing about teaching - I always learn things from the students as well as they from me.  Enjoy what is left of the summer and have a few more adventures.  See you soon!
