My Grading PROCEDURES & POLICIES
Grading is consistent as well for each course. See below:
Grades will be updated in google classroom within a day or two after the grading was completed for all assignments, tests, and quizzes. Schooltool grades will be updated each week.
1. Homework (20%):
Students should expect homework at least 3 days per week. At the beginning of each class after homework is assigned, it will be checked for completeness and students will be graded based on total questions answered from 0-4.
Grading:
4: Complete work is shown and all questions answered
3: Most of the questions are answered with work shown
2: Some questions answered, some work shown
1: Minimal questions answered with work shown
0: Little to no work shown, majority of questions not answered
Students who fail to do their homework will be given a chance to submit the assignment by the next day for half credit. If not completed by the next class, it will be recorded as a zero.
- I also reserve the right to collect homework at any time to be graded for accuracy vs. effort
2. Quizzes (25%):
Students will be given notice before each quiz but should expect a quiz about every 2 weeks. Quizzes will occur halfway through each unit. There are no corrections on quizzes.
3. Tests (40%):
Students will be given a test about every 3-4 weeks and will know one week ahead of time of the upcoming test. Each test will consist of material covered since the last test. Corrections on tests may be given and must be completed within 1 week from the return of the graded test. Up to half credit may be earned on the corrected test. With corrections, all work must be shown on a separate sheet of paper and turned in with the original test.
4. Participation (15%):
Students will be graded on participation in the classroom. This will be a weekly grade (25 pts, 5 points each class). Students will be required to work in whole group discussion, as well as any partner work. Students must come to class prepared with all necessary materials (pens, pencils, books, calculators) without having to leave class after it has begun. Students will also be required to work independently during class which will fall under participation.
