Pre-Algebra: This course will cover the foundation topics for Algebra, preparing students for Regents Algebra 1 next year. Topics covered include but are not limited to, simplifying expressions, solving equations and inequalities, functions, systems of equations, linear equations and graphs, exponent properties, and statistics. We will cover the beginning of Algebra 1 to prepare students for the Regents exam the following year.
Algebra 1: This course is the first year of the traditional mathematics Regents courses. Content includes review of linear expressions, equations, and inequalities, functions, linear functions and arithmetic sequences, systems of linear equations and inequalities, exponents, polynomials, quadratic functions, roots and irrational numbers, and statistics. We will work through each unit and provide enough review and provide students with the tools they need to successfully pass the Algebra 1 Regents Examination in June.
