Lessons learned-
Throughout the project, I found that I very much enjoyed working with people that needed this assistance. Seeing people in lower states of health can sometimes be a shock in the beginning, but it will change your perspective on how you want to live your life helping people who are in desperate need. I found that learning about others needs and help can make me feel emotionally accomplished after the fact.
I found that being a leader wasn't difficult, but far more rewarding in the end. We worked from the morning until the late afternoons working to share our knowledge, abilities, and love to many others for the sake of caring. We made people become more aware of their health and how important it is to stay healthy and learn to care and share with others.
Future plans-
In the future, I will do the same as I did for this project. I will share, care and love helping others in need physically, emotionally, and mentally. Before going into this project I did not know what to expect working with the shelters as well as other volunteer organizations until I spent the time and effort into these few days and finding how beautiful and rewarding it is.
I will now know that the feeling of being nervous when presenting or doing new things in life is a boundary that you just need to push past to be able to find your passion and desire in life. And for that, I found that mine caring and providing the best care for all of my patients, friends, and family. I am thankful every day for receiving this opportunity to work with others in underprivileged areas.
