Title: RHS Culture Immersion Trip.
Abstract:
I choose to do this project because I believe that helping others in an abnormal way will allow others to become aware of the enormous issue we are having around us. Providing care in any way possible will allow us to understand that you can make a difference without anyone else. In the end, I have noticed a significant decrease in participation to help others around my community and I feel as if I can show others around me that if I can provide care for others in a different community, then maybe we all can realize that our community almost relies on our help to strive and grow. I look at myself as a leader of my country, that will do whatever it takes for my community to come to a realization about this devastation. We are in desperate need for our community to come together and help or else the decline will only grow. I will be the one to lead and show others that this is a serious misfortune and it needs to be changed immediately. We simply volunteer at school events to better our resumes, but when in all reality our community around us are in hopeless need of attention. We can make a difference, but we need everyone to help together to show others that we need to make changes as soon as possible.
Goals:
For my EDGE Project, I have provided clinical health screenings such as; blood pressures, glucose levels and basic eye exams to financially unstable people in Las Vegas, NV at specialty clinics. Also, I have shadowed a general physician that are making a difference in people’s lives significantly who cannot afford proper examinations and medications. I want my community that we are the ones that need to make a difference in underserved areas with required checkups to maintain a healthy life.
Objectives:
I completed clinical health screenings such as; blood pressures, glucose levels and basic eye exams to financially unstable people in Las Vegas, NV, then other will learn to help in other ways needed for these patients.
I am able to take my next step and working with people in a more specialized way in the near future.
I will possibly be given an internship at one of these facilities in the future to then create a campaign with the organization.
Deliverables:
I have document all of the moments I create with patients and documentation of my applications to work in the facilities we will volunteer in.
I have produced a memory journal with all of the documentation we have to fill out to volunteer including photos.
