1.2 être (to be)

The verb être is an irregular verb in the present tense. Listen carefully to its forms in the present and imitate the pronunciation, including the liaison or linking of the -s in vous to the verb form which follows it.

C'est (plural Ce sont) is a common expression used to introduce people or things.

Examples: C'est Robert. Ce sont des étudiants.
