SBPS Bands

Welcome to the Suttons Bay Band Program! Our mission is to offer a range of musical experiences through various ensembles and exciting performance opportunities, all within a supportive community of peers. The band program serves students grades 5-12.

Program Overview:

• 5th Grade Band

• 6th Grade Band

• 7th-8th Grade Band

• High School Band

5th Grade Beginning Band: Discover the joy of music with foundational instrument skills and basic musical education. Perform at our annual winter and spring concerts, setting the stage for musical growth and confidence.

6th Grade Band: Continue to improve your skills on your instrument and perform at winter and spring concerts. Band leadership positions become available in 6th grade.

7-8th Grade Band: Transition to more advanced music with increased performance opportunities. Participate in 3-4 concerts annually, including the MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival. Students are encouraged to showcase their talents individually or in small groups at the MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Festival.

High School Band: Opportunities continue to expand as skills mature. Perform at winter and spring concerts, MSBOA festivals, and engage the community as a pep band for athletic events, parades, and celebrations.

Beyond the Classroom: Experience a comprehensive music education with numerous extracurricular opportunities and support throughout the year. Benefit from guest artist instruction, funding for private lessons and summer camps, and a mentorship program with local professionals providing personalized guidance.
