We invited young people with SEND to take part in a work experience opportunity to support the event. An afternoon workshop at the Civic Offices was arranged; 12 young people attended the workshop held on 9 October. We had various activities for the young people to get involved with such as: designing posters for the various zones, designing the therapy team’s stall and supporting Comms and Engagement colleagues with planning filming/social media posts about the event.
On the day of the event we had several young people helping out. We had Archie ‘meeting and greeting’ people as they entered the venue and giving out tote bags. We also had Ronnie helping on the Cognus Therapies stall. He encouraged visitors to the stall and was responsible for explaining the activity and guiding young people through the shopping role play process. Ronnie also helped to restock the products onto the shop shelf once the young people had ‘purchased’ them.
Re-yon supported our comms team to produce a short film about the event.
Well done everyone who was involved!
