Perinatal mental health audit

Summary of findings

The perinatal mental health audit looked at six cases where pre-birth assessment had been completed and perinatal mental health was identified as a factor. Of the six cases, four cases were rated as 'good' and two cases were rated as 'requires improvement'.

Recommendations

The following recommendations were made following analysis of responses to the audit and discussion at the moderation panel.

1. A review of the vulnerable antenatal forum to take place, including reviewing the terms of reference and membership.

2. A review of the GP, health visitor safeguarding meetings to take place.

3. LSCP Perinatal Mental Health Protocol to be reviewed and updated.
