Climate Change & Mi'kmaq Knowledge

Come and learn how climate change is impacting the Mi’kmaw moon calendar as well as Mi'kmaw knowledge systems, world view and how that has changed. Along with community based climate monitoring through a Mi’kmaq lens and how to monitor using techniques such as citizen science from staff at The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq.
The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq is a non-profit organization based in Millbrook First Nation with a mandate to “proactively promote and assist Mi’kmaw communities’ initiatives toward self determination and enhancement of community”. The CMM delivers a variety of community programs and advisory services to First Nations communities in Nova Scotia.
