Maryellen Brown
Description: Maryellen has been involved with the district in multiple capacities. She current serves as a Long-Term Substitute in our Special Education Department. She currently serves as a coach of our unified bocce team at Susquenita and has experience teaching in higher education.
Lindsey Chrismer
Description: Lindsey Chrismer has a bachelor's degree in Special Education and a Master's degree in Special Education PreK-12. She has been teaching for 8 years at Susquenita HS, 7 years being in the Life Skills classroom. In the summer, Lindsey is a Site Supervisor at a summer camp, Aaron’s Acres, for individuals with disabilities, ages 5-12 years.
Ashley Danoff
Description: Ashley Danoff has 10 years of teaching experience in Middle School Mathematics and Science, holds a Masters in Teaching, and a National Board Certification. She is currently a Math Contractor with the Math Curriculum Team at the Modern Classrooms Project. She also mentors educators through the Modern Classrooms Project Virtual Mentorship Program.
Kristin Davis
Description: Mrs. Davis is a middle and high school librarian and social studies teacher. She has been at Susquenita since 2016. She is also yearbook advisor and an Apple Learning Coach.
Lauren DeLellis & Samantha Forsythe
Description: Lauren DeLellis is an educational consultant at the Capital Area Intermediate, focusing on secondary transition and inclusive practices. Prior to her current position, she spent 11 years as a high school Life Skills Support teacher. Lauren’s focus is supporting districts in addressing the needs of all learners.
Samantha Forsythe is an Educational Consultant with the CAIU’s Training and Consultation team and a former middle school Autism Support Teacher. Specializing in Inclusive Practices and Autism, she helps educators implement strategies that foster accessible, supportive classrooms where all students can thrive.
Dr. Alison Binger
Description: Dr. Binger has taught for 20 years as an elementary art teacher and holds an MEd in Art Education and PhD in Cultural Education.
Dr. Oliver Dreon
Description: Oliver Dreon has been a faculty member at Millersville University since 2007, working with preservice and practicing teachers across grade levels. His teaching focuses on instructional technology, online learning, science education, and artificial intelligence, and he has developed numerous workshops to support K-12 educators in integrating digital tools into their classrooms.
From 2012-2020, he served as Director of the University's Center for Academic Excellence, leading initiatives in online teaching, innovative pedagogy, and assessment. His research centers on instructional technology, AI in education, and teacher development, with a focus on how learning communities grow and collaborate. In 2024, he was named Teacher Educator of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges of Teacher Educators (PAC-TE).
Beth Johnson & Steve Shirmer
Description: Steve and Beth have a combined 60+ years in science education from grades 7th to 12th integrating technology with traditional teaching methods. Their passion for fostering student creativity and critical thinking has led them to embrace both time tested traditional approaches and digital tools to create a student-centered space where technology and hands-on activities work together to inspire curiosity and success.
Caitlin Karetas
Description: As the Elementary Education Program Coordinator at Pennon Education, I bring a strong foundation in child development and instructional design to my work. I hold a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Human Development from Penn State Harrisburg and am certified in English as a Second Language. I am currently completing my master’s degree in Language and Literacy at Millersville University, where I continue to deepen my expertise in effective, research‑based instruction. I’m especially passionate about creating inquiry‑driven, STEM‑focused learning experiences for students in grades K–6, helping young learners explore, question, and discover through hands‑on, meaningful lessons.
Michelle Krill
Description: Michelle Krill is an experienced educator, instructional technology specialist, and professional learning facilitator. Her background includes elementary education, instructional coaching, graduate-level teaching, and emerging educational technologies. After over two decades of supporting teachers and students in Pennsylvania, she now works with Eduspire, assisting educators as they explore AI, digital learning, and innovative teaching methods.
Michelle’s mission is to help educators gain confidence with new tools while maintaining human connection, curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning in the classroom. Her presentations combine storytelling, humor, research, and practical classroom tips, aiding educators in navigating the constantly evolving technology landscape.
Hannah Langel
Description: I’m Hannah Langel, a 4th-grade teacher at SES. I hold a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in Instructional Coaching, and I’m passionate about education and creating meaningful, engaging learning experiences for students. Outside of the classroom, I love cooking, baking sourdough, gardening, and traveling with my family. I’m also a busy mom of two toddlers and enjoy balancing family life with my love for teaching.
Lyndy LeVan
Description: Lyndy has been teaching 6th grade math and science at Susquenita Middle School since 2007. She serves as the middle school Innovation Coach, which allows her to help staff incorporate technology into engaging lessons. She is also the 6th grade team leader, a member of the SAP team, a Task Force team member, Student Council co-advisor, and a certified Apple Learning Coach.

Eric Ryder
Description: Eric Ryder has spent nearly two decades as a music educator in Pennsylvania building high-engagement programs in the classroom and ensembles. Serving as a bridge between the arts and core instruction, Eric's pedagogy blends several mainstream methodologies and approaches with the specialized insights gained from his degrees in Reading and Educational Leadership. This unique intersectionality has led him to become an early adopter of classroom technology and implementation frameworks, leveraging digital tools to remove barriers within a joyful and inclusive environment that also enhances teacher productivity.

Description: Terrance Shepler holds a Master's degree in Educational Technology. As a dedicated history teacher at Susquenita High School, Terrance has showcased his versatility across subjects like AP US History, Civics, and Media. Honored as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2023, he's not only adept at harnessing Apple's innovative tools but also a recognized voice in the field, having spoken at MACPL, PETE&C, and ISTE. Terrance is passionate about transforming learning through technology.
Barry Sloane
Description: Barry Sloane is the School Services Coordinator at the Highmark Caring Place, bringing over 35 years of experience supporting children and families, with a special focus on mental health and grief. Previously, he managed 24/7 crisis intervention services and the Teenline program at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, where he provided clinical supervision, training, and crisis response. His extensive background also includes eleven years at Milton Hershey School. An advocate for youth mental health, he actively contributes to community organizations focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention.

Rita Steele serves as the Student Applications Support Manager in the CSIU Computer

educational data management, Rita has been actively involved in Pennsylvania
Information Management System (PIMS) data collections since 2007. Known for her
strengths in problem-solving, project management, and client-focused leadership, Rita
is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and building lasting partnerships with the
districts she supports.
Jesse Snyder & Brian Jacobs
Description: Jesse Snyder is a Health and Physical Education teacher at Susquenita School District. He is co-presenting with Brian Jacobs, his colleague and fellow member of the Physical Education Department. Together, they bring extensive experience teaching in both large and small group settings across classroom and gymnasium environments.
Brian and Jesse are committed to enhancing student engagement and fostering supportive environments where all students can thrive. In addition to their teaching roles, they have collaboratively designed and delivered professional development sessions at LIFTED and district trade days, focusing on team-building and cultivating positive, collaborative cultures for staff and administrators.
Kailee Warner
Description: Kailee Warner is a second year teacher at Susquenita. Her first year, she taught fourth grade and this year she teaches first grade. In addition to teaching, Kailee also runs the sports section for the Duncannon Record, Perry County Times and the News Sun.

Description: Katie Wilson is a fifth grade math and science teacher at Susquenita Middle School. She started teaching fifth grade at Susquenita in 2017. In addition to fifth grade, Katie is an Apple Learning Coach and Student Council co-advisor.
Sarah Miller is a fifth grade ELA and Social Studies teacher at Susquenita Middle School. She started teaching fifth grade at Susquenita in 2008.
