Lunch Buddies
Sign-up to be a buddy with students from our special education department during lunch. Miracle League of Arizona
Miracle League of Arizona is a nonprofit adaptive baseball league for individuals with special needs. They are currently looking for volunteers for the upcoming winter season which begins on January 11th. They run their program at the field located off of Shea and the 101 in North Scottsdale. Below is additional information about the volunteer opportunity.
Buddies: Our buddy program is at the core of the athlete experience, and an enormous part of the game day experience. Individual buddies can register for 2-hour blocks (2 games) or more. During their assigned games, buddies are paired up with an athlete to help them in the field, and also if they need assistance batting. Buddies run/walk the bases with their athlete and provide a fun, safe, encouraging environment for all athletes. The goal is for new relationships to form, create an amazing athlete experience, and have fun! Buddies are also eligible to gain service hours for their efforts.
Games are played throughout the day on Saturdays (9am-5pm), and Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday nights from 6pm-8pm. All volunteers can sign up on our website at www.miracleleagueaz.com/volunteer
