Welcome to my E-Portfolio; a place for viewers to learn about me, my skills and abilities and to get a glimpse into what inspires me.
About me:
I was a single mother who put myself through college. I was on welfare and food stamps. I am a proud graduate of a community college. I am a person with learning differences. I am a divorcee. I am a wife to a remarkable man. I am a mother to two amazing young women and a step mother to a pretty cool son and an awesome daughter. I am a proud grandmother. I am an educator. I hope I am a role model. I am a leader. I am a community engager. I am an advocate. I strive to be an influencer of change. I believe in working hard and being kind to people. I am an occupational therapy practitioner. I am a community volunteer. I love the sunshine. Being with family warms my soul. I treat others as I want to be treated. Laughter is the best medicine. I am confident, but am never good enough. I want to be the best I can be. I desire to inspire other's to be the best they can be. I crave positive energy and try to avoid negative energy. I truly enjoy connecting with people. The smell of a baby's head and puppy breath are the best. When life hands me lemons I always make lemonade. I am thankful every day for the beautiful life I have been blessed with.
Gratitude:
Periodically I reflect on my time at Jamestown Community College and am grateful that the college took a risk by hiring a young, inexperienced clinician, with the minimum qualifications but a lot of potential. From day one, I was driven to assure those that took a chance on me that they made the right decision. I am confident that over time I have developed into a skilled educator, an authentic leader, a valuable employee and have proven myself to be a dedicated member of the college community. The amazing opportunity that JCC offered to me in August of 2000 is always with me and is a reminder to continually strive for excellence. I take great pride in and remain passionate about the work I do with students and for JCC as a whole, both on campus and in the community. I am dedicated to the college, to my profession, to my students and am confident that I have displayed these virtues during my tenure.
FAMILY!
Two of my favorites: my grandson Calvin and dog Coney!
