Read Across the District (RAD) is a program which will provide opportunities for Lakewood High School (LHS) students to read aloud to students in SSD Elementary Schools. This program was the brain child of our 2024-2025 Miss Lakewood High School. This will be our inaugural year and we are very excited about it.
Research shows that if children acquire strong reading skills and a love of reading, they are more likely to succeed academically and graduate on time.
Through a collaborative effort between LHS and SSD Elementary Schools, Miss Lakewood and her team will travel to the surrounding elementary schools to read aloud to Elementary Students. This program will serve students in 1st through 5th grade.
Join us for this fun activity.
*Bonus: This experience may be used as community service hours!
If you are interested in joining, fill out this Google Form or stop by the LHS Guidance Office or the Library.

In the case of limited capacity events, students will be chosen on a first come, first served basis.
Students must choose their book, practice reading it, and report to the library at the date and time indicated.
